Meh, 17-7 not 7-17 BUT, with all the pre-season hype and high expectations it feels a lot worse than it is.

What this season is - is just the same as the last 2 years of Pastner, the 2 years of Tubby, and now Penny's 2 years.

6 years of really average (for Memphis) basketball.

It is what it is.....

Just gotta hope that there is not a lot of transfers out at the end of this year and that Penny can add 2-4 high level recruits to go with what he'll have coming back.

There was a Tyler Harris 3 that was called a 2 that looked like a clear 3. It was never reviewed to my knowledge.

Boogie looks like he's having fun. If anyone transfers I think its Baugh.

Cincy was guarding against the 3-pointer. Not helping when someone drove so we had pretty good success driving. That wasnt the case at he end of reg.

ALo played his heart out down the stretch.

Our best lineup right now is

ALo
Boogie
Quinones
Precious
Dandridge

Got to play Baugh in Alo's place, he needs minutes & we need his height on the floor. Alo had some good minutes but had a rough start & a rough finish.

Yep. Still not sure why Boogie sat out so much of the second half with 1 foul though.

I’m not holding my breath on any of that. Don’t see why any elite recruit would choose us and risk not even making the NIT after this year’s flameout with the #1 class. Maybe this is the new normal for Tiger basketball- hoping to make it 3 or 4 times every 10-12 years and making sweet 16 is about the best we can hope for. If so, it’s sad but not much the fans can do

This team has more heart than skill and I guess that counts for something.

We started 13-17 from the line and finished 20-32; so 7-15 with 3 missed front ends, so obviously that's no good.

They called 10 fouls on us from the time we got the lead with a little over 11 minutes left to a little over a minute into overtime, so 10 fouls in a 12 and a half minute span.

We had loser fans asking why Dandridge didn't hold onto the ball. He didn't hold onto it because he got body checked and the refs didn't call a foul. No foul on the charge on Cumberland, no foul on any of our drives, all of which had much more contact than the 5th foul on Precious. No foul when Precious went up for the rebound on the last drive.

By any measure known to man, we got ******.

We definitely did down the stretch but we had chances to extend our lead when we were up by 9 and didn't. And that no call on Dandridge was bad but him throwing the ball away like he did was worse. If we could ever play a whole game like we did when we went up by 9 we'd be OK. I have hope for the AAC tourney after tonight though. Oh well, on to UConn and GTG!

You preferred for him to hold onto the ball as he was being body checked out of bounds?

WE FOUL A LOT

We are 281st in fouls per game.

So either EVERY game official got together and decided they hate us and are going to screw us.

-OR-

We just foul too damn much.

Because it was a block and not a charge.

I went back and checked the video and blew it up and watched it over and over.

Lester may have had his feet set but his upper body was moving sideways and the contact was to his shoulder. And not in the middle of his chest. He was not in a guarding position because his upper body was moving sideways.

So it was correctly called a block. The ref was in the right position to see Lester's body moving sideways as the offensive player was trying to split defenders.

I couldn't watch the live game because my heart is bad. :) I did go back and watch the last 3 minutes of regulation. We missed FTs we should've hit, but we got 2 horrible no calls against us (Malco and Precious). The refs did us no favors. I thought we were going to get murdered tonight, but I'm proud of the kids. I do think this will be a hard one to shake off. This loss is worse than the USF game in my opinion. I'm curious to see how the play on Sunday.

With our full roster at the start of the season only have at most 3 losses...Probably 2

So 21-3 would be seriously hurt...Come on...Your are trolling

But none of that happened. Penny promised all the smoke but only delivered smoke and mirrors.

You are a troll

No, I'm someone who isn't satisfied with people bragging about winning championships when they're not qualified to do more than coach AAU. I don't accept mediocre coaching. Apparently, you not only accept it, you embrace it.

They fought hard.

Sometimes you lose tight road games.

I'm ok with this one. We have some bad losses, this isn't one.

On to UConn.

Bottom line -- we just aren't very good. Watch some of these high level teams play on any given night, and then watch Memphis play. Night and day.

Who are these so called high level teams that we look nothing like, I guarantee you they aren't made up of all freshman and all of them have bad losses somewhere. Your so mad that we had the number #1 class because it's in almost every post, but we don't still have the number #1 class playing but somehow that shouldnt matter, win anyway. You hear that HOF Roy Williams you should win even when Cole Anthony was hurt, not be 10-12.

We do a lot of dumb things for sure that cost us games but some of these guys are starting to figure this out and if, big if,Penny can keep them together and keep adding pieces we will have a solid program going forward. SMH

He wanted to call a charge...He delayed because he knew Cumberland had four fouls and it would greatly affect the game. So he took the easy route.
