Did you read the article?
Yes, it said a source said the DOJ was surprised. I believe the feds have guidelines or maybe even a formula. This article did not address that. Also if the DOJ had that opinion before or after Trump went to Twitter

Trump tweeted responses to the Reporters' tweets several hours afterward.

Explain to me why Stone should get one day more in prison than Loretta Lynch.

ETA: Oops, I meant to type Lois Lerner instead of Lynch, wrong LL, but either will do.

Or Bill Clinton for that matter.

Keep in mind, the numbnuts who came up with 7 to 9 years are the same numbnuts who tried for two years to find anything on this president, and couldnt. Trump is probably the cleanest politician we have ever had since Washington.

Also, scholars have been scouring the court docs trying to find anywhere else the element these numbnuts used to justify 7 to 9 years was ever used before in a case like this. They have not found a single instance.

Bring charges against her and if found guilty give her the guideline sentence. Zero objection there.

I'd like to see the actual timeline of events here. The Dems and the MSM, but I repeat myself, are saying that it was:

- prosecutors file for 7-9
- Trump tweets
- Barr/DOJ listen to Trump and change things up

DOJ/GOP disputes this and says the timeline is more like:

- prosecutors meet back and forth with DOJ for a week before this all went down and promised to walk back from the 7-9 rec to making no rec to the judge
- prosecutors instead go to the judge with the 7-9
- media reports on the 7-9
- Trump reacts and tweets
- Barr/DOJ call prosecutors to account, not due to Trump tweets, but because they had been lied to

I'd like to know the truth, and if the truth is the second timeline, Trump needs to have Justice come out and provide the details.

But given the degreee of partisanship exercised by the Obama administration, that was never going to happen.

The DOJ has been kinda busy trying to overthrow the president but yeah, you are right.

I suspect it's coming. Trump needs to drop the declass hammer.

They resigned to avoid getting fired for lying to their bosses.

The SAA that was sleeping with the reporter and leaking CLASSIFIED info and lied to investigators got a whopping two months. Let that sink in. Two months. Don’t piss down my neck and tell me it’s raining you bunch of liberal hacks. This is another political hit job from the scum on the left.

I don’t understand the prosecutors point of resigning in protest. What does quitting prove? Is this like taking your ball and going home?

Invert #’s 3&4 and I think you have it.

DOJ Bossman Barr has it heading that way, or already in the works, the Drumpf decides on another ill advised tweet to muddy the waters.

Still, the underlying bullspit can’t be run over

This judge is nuts. She was the same judge for the manafort trials as well. How does that even happen?

And now the judge is blaming Stones team for not finding out about this sooner.

Thats what Im thinking. All 4 career prosecutors suddenly decide to throw away their entire career in a little temper tantrum over a couple of years in case they won? Seems unlikely. It seems more likley they were all given a choice---resign and keep your benefits or be fired for cause and lose them. Also, it says they were using the sentencing guidelines normally applied to violent offenders like armed robbers and murders---which are almost never used for a non-violent offense like obstruction.

The judge is about to be in the public hot-seat.

By the way, this was the judge on just about all of Muellers cases. These actions by the judge is going to make it easy on Trump to pardon all of them.
