Turnovers were the big difference. We got roasted on the boards.

You need to find a sport you understand to discuss. I really don't want to pull out all your ignorant quotes over the past week, but I just might for fun. This is just another one.
Give it a rest man. There is no need for personal attacks. You were the one posting stats and saying the exact opposite in the next sentence. Any time you want to step on the court, bring it old man

I’m absolutely NOT rooting for Burke to fail. I really like the guy, like his attitude, like his thought process and like the way he actually puts pretty solid game plans together. Pardon me for not wanting to make a snap decision and give the keys to a guy that has been up and down. He’s got more to prove, still does. Snap decisions get universities into trouble. BS, We lost our only freakin' PG that had any idea how to play the position and handle the ball, and you blamed the problems on the coach and refused to acknowledge this could even be a factor.. But not once did you offer a single observation about what he had done wrong AS A COACH.
When I pointed out over, and over, and over that the loss off Phillips hurt this team tremendously you said "But but but Shy was out, he will make everything better."
He did make everything better. Know why? Because it wasn't an accident that Burke beat NU, CofC, William and Mary and took Hofstra to the wire WITH Shy at PG, and that we lost to JMU and Elon with him out and lost to Towson with him injured and playing only 20 minutes. It wasn't the COACH it was the lack of a PG.
Who knows where we go from here, but don't forget we were on an 11 game losing streak with this exact same roster. We were 0-6 in the CAA and Burke is 3-4 since. We could easily be at least 4-3 under Burke in the CAA if Shy hadn't gone out. That's some pretty damned good coaching in my book.

There was plenty of other guys to step up, like they did tonight, and they didn’t. As others have pointed out we didn’t seem prepared to play without him. That is on the coach, sorry. He’s had some really good moments and some not so good. I’m just glad you are not the AD Burke would already have a 20 year contract. Let’s see the full sample size . He has the luxury of having that chance.

They didn't "step up", they just had a PG who could run an offense that makes them all better and allowed the others to do what they do best. That's what PG's do. Do you think it was coincidence they all "stepped up" when Burke took over and pressed Phillips to really lead this team? Siddle? If Burke hadn't stepped up and proven on the court he's the man, Siddle would have been my guy. But i'm not stupid. When you see success you don't change for the sake of change. I'd never really paid any attention to Burke until the Charlotte game when I saw him really pumping up the guys on the bench. He's been a pleasant surprise.

lol this is awesome.
I will say I was pleasantly surprised tonight about how we looked when Shy wasn't on the floor. Like I said earlier, Okauru looked like a different player attacking the rim than in the previous couple of games. Like he'd gotten his confidence back or something.
Granted, when Knight was in and Okauru was driving, Knight stayed away due to foul trouble. But even so, Okauru was finishing at the rim no matter who was down low.

Right.... if he and others had stepped up with Shy out we might have had better results.

Dude can finish at the bucket. Surprising, since he really isn't that big. But, he has crazy hops. I think eveyone has figured out our opening act with the alley oop though....

Knight has always been our nemesis. But I didn't know he was such a baby. Maybe it was just this game, but he whined constantly tonight. When he got his fourth foul he cried to two different refs before leaving the court. And he planted his shoulder into Boggs, who was standing at the ft line, on his way to the bench.

Sims was EVERYWHERE tonight. His length and athleticism were the key ingredient to that press. He knew what his role needed to be and got the job done. It won’t really show up in the box score but helluva game from that kid.

Absolutely. We NEED him to rebound and defend. We only play one big, so at the 4 he is the only other player on the court who has the size and ahtleticsim to add rebounding and defense at the 4. When he shoots outside, or shoots too much, we are stuck with one person who can rebound in the post. One of our coaches was a starter, and wears an NCAA championship ring because he was a lock down defender who didn't score much. He knew what his role was as well.

Thought it was interesting he considered playing Linssen and Dodd together.
AND
I want to say this humbly: "We are the six time defending Champions here" "We are a program to be reckoned with in this league". "We ain't backing down from nobody" "You have to believe that this is a mid major plus program and we need to be one, two or three every year"
Damn.

I've been wanting to see Linssen and Dodd on the floor together. I know we can't do it much, but I'd like to see it at critical times.
