Just to wrap it up, MLS has given a deadline of 31 March to start construction or MLS could leave Nashville. Not sure if they would play out the season in NSH or just make all games road games then move this Fall. But Nashville Soccer Holdings (the billionaires’ ownership group) did join Metro as a co-defendant against the group that’s in court saying they want nothing built at the Fairgrounds. That’s positive I suppose.

On a further soccer note, I simply cannot believe the amount of racist, xenophobic hate towards soccer that still exists today. The comments on social media are just vile. People aren’t even ashamed of it.

Well when you have a leader of the free world that flaunts this this type of behavior, you should expect others to follow and not be ashamed of it.

I watched the second half on WABM 68 after coming across it flipping channels. I thought that the Legion played really well against a 1st level team. I thought that we were going to get out with a tie. [/align]

It was a great atmosphere and effort from the Legion. Playing against a quality level MLS will definitely boost the confidence of the team once the regular season begins.

Does the Birmingham team still have the former UAB player on it?

It looks like Mathieu Laurent is still with Legion, but Gael Mabiala isn't.

You might be thinking of Brian Wright. He's usually the starting striker but he played college soccer at Vermont, then spent time with the New England Revs in MLS.

Yes, you are correct. Somehow I thought I heard in a game last season that he played at UAB.
