Exclamation Will FOX and CBS OTA put Week 0 games on free tv?
There are several games that could be put on week 0 this year: Hawaii all the MWC teams that play Hawaii and the 5 teams that play Hawaii OOC.
Why not beat ESPIN and own that week starting off the season with the first “game day”?
Great idea IMHO.

ESPN will probably get another exemption for a week 0 gme like Miami/Florida last year and beat the crap out of it.

Tangentially, how soon will we see the current Week 0 with restrictions become the new Week 1 for anyone that wants to play a week earlier? I put the over/under at 5 years. It’s an additional full week of games for TV revenue purposes, Northern teams can shift a game that would have been played in cold weather November to a nice summer weather August date, and there’s an argument that it’s better for player health to have an additional bye week during the year, too. It’s basically all win-win.

I'd totally take the under. Probably within 2-3 years IMO.

And that’s huge for attendance. August night games sell themselves. Conversely, many people opt for the tv on frigid November Saturday’s.

Great idea IMHO.

It would be a good idea but Game Day will be in Dublin that day for the Navy/Notre Dame game. (Link)

EDIT: BTW, whereas Navy & ND needed a waiver to play in week 0, if a joint proposal from the AAC, ACC & Pac 12 succeeds, future teams that play a regular season game in a foreign country may, as a matter of course, play their first game in week 0. (Link)

Navy vs ND will be on either NBC or CBS though correct?
Does ESPN have the rights to any Week 0 games scheduled?

Notre Dame vs. Navy in Ireland will be on ESPN. ESPN acquired the rights to Navy's "home" games vs. ND as part of ESPN's AAC contract.

That could delay the inevitable as far as week 0 is concerned (I agree with Frank - it will eventually just become the new week 1). I wonder if this rule proposal passes, will we see more games played in exotic locations? Ohio State vs. Indiana from the Bahamas?

Also, does Canada count? If so, why not a Michigan game in Toronto or a Wisconsin game in Edmonton? Some driveable stadiums just across the border...

Edmonton is a straight shot 10 hours north of...the Montana Grizzlies.

Ugh ... I hope not.

The weekend before Labor Day weekend .... it is still SUMMER. Time to be spent on the lake, or the BBQ, or hiking, or the beach, or the fair, or shooting off leftover fireworks, or whatever summer things folk like to do.

Summer is short enough as is in the North. For every time there is a season. And football season starts Labor Day weekend. I absolutely do not want to see it start prior.

Seriously, billybobby, you must not pay much attention to AAC games vs contract-bowl-conference teams.
