I don't know how to break this to you, but you can think differently. I'm just one dude.

Rally up the troops. Call Ingram up. Make a change.

I can't do anything myself.

& might I suggest don't repost what others are posting.
I'm enjoying this ignore list feature.

At the time of the last hiring, we had just flopped in the conference tournament which was held at home and were forced to settle for an NIT bid. Well, we got slaughtered in that game as well.

Haase saw how we only were a 1 bid league & left.

That NBA guy interviewed for the job and Scarbinsky might have been pushing us to hire Person at the time.

We settled for our best option at the time.

Let's settle no more. Let's go out and get our $2 million coach this time.

Wrong, Haase saw the opportunity to coach in a P5 league for 2x/3x the income. That’s why he left. We hired Rob because Cokely, HaHa & other players wanted him to be coach.

the issue is money. we don't have it and our overlords wont approve a buyout because they want us to fail

I agree that the issue is money. I suspect that the 800k for the balance of the contract plus what ever premium over the current contract there is for a “winning” coach must be raised before making a change. I also suspect the deep pockets that funded the resurrection of the football program have been already approached by the AD for b-ball facility improvements.

Well, Haase was being paid $1 million and that combined with the lack of money we brought in at the time due to very bad fan support we probably were losing well over $1 million a year in basketball.

No way could you hire anyone losing that much money therefore Ehsan was the safe choice.

Fast forward a few years - attendance is even worse (thanks fans) and you can't even pay to get decent teams to come to town.

Who really would want the job now? (thanks fans or lack thereof)

An NBA player doing it for publicity, a rules violator assistant coach from within the state or a coach who had been with the team for several years. Tough decision there for head coach.

Ehsan has done everything he could (as mentioned by some) to hold the Gene Bartow banner high and run a clean program.

I knew The Man, quite well, and you couldn't be further from the truth. You disgrace his memory with the garbage you post here and on Twitter. Robert Ehsan doesn't deserve to even be mentioned in the same breath with Coach Bartow.

That's all the time worth spending on you. Have a nice life.

I really don’t care if he’s a nice guy. His results on the court are as far away from Gene Bartow’s as they could possibly get. Terrible comparison. Being nice and running a clean program by themselves don’t qualify someone to be a D1 head basketball coach. Those are probably the only good things you could say about Ehsan these past four years.

If they would announce some sort of fund raising drive to buy out the coach and pay up for a new, legitimate coach, I would be totally on board to contribute. Anything is better than wallowing in awfulness.

Nate Oats was hired at Buffalo in 2015 for $250,000 a year. The man turned Buffalo into an elite mid major. It didn't take him over 4 years to accomplish this, and he took over a team in a very similar situation to the UAB team Ehsan took over. A good coach finds ways to win, and can do so quickly. He also plays an exciting brand of basketball that people will pay to see.

I refuse to believe that this is the best UAB can be, and I refuse to believe that money is a driving factor, because there are many more coaches just like Oats who have turned around lesser programs with lower pay than what UAB can offer.

& Cedric Dixon was a helluva player for UAB.

Fans like some of you don't deserve a basketball program.

Y'all might want to spend some time supporting the program instead of spending it bitching at the coach.

La Tech was a great game for some of you to attend, but nope. couldn't do it. It would show support for Ehsan.

North Texas would be another good game.
