Obviously the competition is lousy but when one player more than doubles up the opposition’s entire output I have to think there’s some skill involved and I have to think the coach should have had her sit after quarter number one.
I would doubt the coach is worried about pumping numbers. Curious why he left her in and shooting.
Sitting your leader after Q1 might not prepare the team for the games that matter. You need her out there to run the offense even with second team. The coaches I see locally in similar situations will normally keeep them in 3Q. One local kept a kid in just a tad long inyo Q4 even though up over 30 because they were playing against her former team. Her last drive to the basket was her last drive, cost the team a state run IMO.
Distribute and teach. I'm of a mind thats all you want them doing against less athletic teams because playing against less coordinated players like that is when you really risk injury.
Could ask her to lay off the shooting but perhaps those were break aways?

I like the story after hers- talks about another player having a big game and the accompanying photo shows the “star” player getting a layup stuffed back in her face. Surely they could have found a better shot.

Well, she did draw the foul, at least - or so it seemed from the picture. Still, I get your point. Hardly a highlight reel play.

Two of those in a year? That's worrying.
Figures. We finally get a 6-5 kid and she’s riddled with injuries. I would hope she redshirts next year.

That would leave us with two undersized fours and no real big in the middle. Beach can play post on offense but I wouldn’t want her and Lance covering a good big defensively.

RE: WBB Recruiting
Cullop has had a lot of bad luck with bigs and injuries. Kessler and Carson never really got a chance to develop before injuries ended their careers. Dorr got injured right off the bat and then ended up leaving. Recker's career was cut way too short by an on-court injury, although she was more of a big wing. And then of course there was whatever caused the dismissal of Cummings. There was also Taylor Carver who ended up leaving, but as I recall also had some other issues. Not saying all of those would have been great players, but I'm sure some of them would have been contributors - especially Recker.
Hopefully, Bolser will have a great, injury-free career.

Nice words about Perdue, who scored 33 on her senior night.
Seems like this year’s freshmen are the best class in awhile and ne tyear’slooks very good as well. We could see a pretty good team the next four or five years.

I don't agree with that comment. Not every player improves during her college career, but we certainly have had a lot who did. On this year's team, Beacham and Davis are much improved from early in their careers. Nakia Black is better this year than she was last year. Kaayla McIntyre improved tremendously in her four years as a Rocket, as did Mikaela Boyd (although her junior year was her best). Sarah St. Fort improved during her Rocket career. Looking further back, how about Courtney Ingersol, Lecretia Smith, Inma Zanoguerra, Andola Dortch, and Yolanda Richardson? All got much better while playing for Toledo. I would say recruiting has been the issue more than player development.

Yeah, I think he may be confused...not developing players is the Men's Basketball coach's MO, not the Women's Basketball coach.

Hmmm, Rian Pearson, Booth (who is almost SLENDER these days), Knapke, Navigato- we’ve had a few clinkers but we’ve had some diamonds in the rough. Game management, maybe but development hasn’t been a big issue, IMO.
