Wonder which coach would shake this guy up? If he really plays to his potential, like Precious, we definitely a Sw16 team. And if we controlled the TO's and improve our 3 point shooting, we could be Auburn of last year tourney!

First 3 games we suck at the rebounding, credit goes to the coaches and players buying to it and now we are one of the best in rebounding and block shots.

C'mon DJ!
Tiger nation need you man.

RE: DJ
DJ will be fine. Has to be just shaking off the flu. He averaged 11 and 6 during the month of December (pre-flu). Since the bug hit, he's been 3 and 3 with one missed game.

I am looking for a big game out of him on Thursday.

1. Now coaches know he can play, so conference opponents have adjusted to that.
2. The flu.
3. Ever changing guard lineup makes it harder for 3-5 positions to get the ball consistently.
4. Thomas & Maurice jacking up 3's doesn't help.
5. Inexperienced players not recognizing who their true scorers are.

I could go on.

The only thing to be figured out for some is that the flu is not a 24 hour stomach virus that you bounce back from after 2 or 3 days. It takes at least 10 days to fully recover and can easily drag out past that depending on the severity.

RE: DJ
DJ is not a alpha dog...

He needs to become one.

If Penny truly wants to run an NBA offense he would let Lomax bring it up and start the offense with DJ. He more than likely is going to have the best matchup especially if he is playing the four allowing him to break the opposing defense down and find others.

I got it the day after Christmas and just on Monday this week starting feeling human again. My congestion is finally gone and I'm not completely exhausted all day but when I get home from work all I want to do it sit or lie down and not get up.

Yeah, I have been cutting him some slack, but he now has had enough time to recover. Next game I want to see him balling.

We just need less dribbling, more passing, less TOs & better shot selection no matter who is on the floor.

RE: DJ
Maybe Penny's initial plan for DJ was the right one. You'll recall he had some of his best games when he didn't start and he came off the bench. I guess some players are that way.

Unfortunately, that's a luxury we can no longer afford.

I thought about that the other day as well and if I recall DJ stated he was fine and comfortable coming off the bench. Perhaps it is just a situation where you let him sit the first minute of 90 seconds and then immediately sub him after the first whistle... But again, it is hard to really make judgement on the past two weeks with the flu. Hopefully, tonight he will have some bounce back in those legs.

Exactly what I have been expecting. It was easy to see the past few games he was still effected by the flu. Now he is better and playing like the 2nd best player on the team.
