2 20+ win seasons, one NCAA tournament, he was lead recruiter on a top 10 rated class for next season. Let's not forget where State basketball was when they got there. He'd bring back a lot of familiar faces if he gets the job. You don't have to like the names that are posted here, but that name deserves consideration.

I'll hazard a guess that that bridge is burnt.

At least interviewing him or asking for one may be a mea culpa towards rebuilding that bridge. Couldn’t hurt to ask. If you don’t ask, the answer is always “no”.

We've discussed this thoroughly already. I believe both sides of the argument are entrenched in their positions on this one, and I'm not using this thread to go down that road again.

Suffice it to say its burnt, and it would be hard to imagine either Siddle or UNCW having mutual interest. I wouldn't put him in the pool of likely candidates.

I don’t think it is... and if so it’s on Jimmys side. Siddle is interested.

This is a business...If it's mutually beneficial to both parties I don't see what an interview would hurt regardless of what happened 3 years ago

Of course. And I'm not saying I don't want an interview to happen. I like Siddle. I'm just saying I don't think it will. I could be wrong.

I just can. There are people on that staff that still hold strong connections to UNCW. Believe me or not, I could care less. I know for a fact he wants the job still.

Coaching speculation
How do you guys know? Did someone tell you? Unless you have a source that actually knows him and he told them that how can you be so certain. It’s ok to speculate but you guys speak it like it’s fact

I would hope they would hire a coach who has HC experience and stay away from the dice roll if at all possible. There are guys around who fit the bill.

I said fact... I know it's not cool to post stuff like that recklessly, and I wouldn't. Just take that for what you will. It really doesn't mean much at the moment. A lot of things would still have to fall in place even if there was mutual interest.

A coach with head coaching experience makes the most sense to me. Hence why my 2 favorites would be Moton and Shaver in the early going.

Sure, Keatts was an assistant, but he at least had been a HC at Hargrave. Plus, unlike C.B., he'd risen to the top assistant at a big time program, running a system that was proven to be successful at the mid-major level.

Basically we just need someone with a more "proven" track record this time around.

Little bit of a long shot but how about Joel Justus? His contract is only 230k, plus he has links to UNCW through being a student athlete and Calipari.

Hmm. Interesting to hear Siddle may be interested. I just spoke to someone who said Keatts is still very connected to Wilmington. Moreso than I expected. An additional connection which is VERY important is Hargrave. That recruiting pipeline is a huge plus.

I also didn't realize he was from Eden NC.

Not saying he's the guy, but maybe worth talking to.

Not ready yet, although I like the Calapari connection.
