Oh My goodness
Mike Leach heading to Mississippi St.....
So your Egg Bowl in 1 year has gone from Pissgate to Mike Leach vs Lane Kiffin.

RE: Oh My goodness
Mike Leach being a sunny beach kind of guy, I'm surprised he didn't make himself available to Miami or FSU. But then again Mississippi state can probably pay way more than either of those schools by virtue of being in the SEC.
How much will Leach make over how long? I predict 7 mil a year over 6 years guaranteed.

I think Leach made a big mistake. Lifetime security at a school you can go to the Rose Bowl/CFP with...to a short leash in an impossible division.

If not for the infighting against Curry and Fulmer's coup, Leach was coming to TN a few years ago. That will be an interesting match up too.
I think yes, Miss St. can offer more money because of the new ABC contract, but Mississippi St. also offers less pressure. I don't Leach's background enough to know what his "dream school" is, but if succeeds at Miss. St he can name his price at that school when it comes open.

You can make a case the peeing-dog penalty affected head-coaching changes at: Ole Miss, Mississippi State, FAU, Arkansas, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and Washington State.

And with the dent Wazzu #Pac12AfterDark ratings are about to get, this could be the straw that breaks Larry Scott's back.

Very true.
Scuttlebutt is that MSU was going to fire Moorhead after the Egg Bowl, but they won the game, and the president had a change of heart. But, after the chaos surrounding their bowl game, they pulled the trigger. Regardless of the timing, that game impacted who they hired.
I love this sport.

I wonder if Brian Harsin would get a look.

Is that really a step up? Easier to win/recruit at Boise. If he continues to win and wants to jump, there will be far better opportunities in the near future.

It would be a pay increase but I was responding to what the search would entail and I think Harsin would be strongly considered. There are a number of coaches in the non-power ranks that might be interested, along with NFL assistants. The problem is that Washington St is so late in the game, all the best options are practically gone.

Can't wait for Leach's breakdown of all of the SEC mascots. Huge hire for the SEC.
