CAA Game #3 - @ Northeastern
Northeastern is still without their starting big man, Tomas Murphy. They currently start 6'6, 6'6", 6'5", 6'1" and 6'0". Their remaining two bigs, 6'8" and 6'9", come off the bench. Will Coen make a difference in game plan?

Another game where size matchups will be the difference. Our size vs. their guard play. Will this be an Elon repeat, or was Hofstra an indication that we learned, and our size and defense will dominate?

Let's get our third, then come back and enjoy home sweet home. Go Tribe!

Way underperformed vs St Joes and way overperformed vs Hofstra. Let's hope we build off the blowout vs HU and keep it moving forward.

Goes to the point I said in another thread. This is not a very good team until they can show consistency. It's not a complete surprise if we win by 15 or lose by 15 to anyone in the CAA.

Something worth monitoring is the return of Thornton Scott. The majority of games that I recall us looking good in, Thornton was in the lineup. Is it a coincidence that an uptick in play corresponded with his return to the court?

14 turnovers last night. That may be skewed by our bench seeing more time, but still too many. Only 10 TO vs Elon.

Last night the main issue was giving up 20 offensive rebounds and 21 fouls but we did a couple sloppy TO

RE: CAA Game #3 - @ Northeastern
Elon outrebounded Northeastern, 37-24, last night, and Northeastern only had 2 offensive rebounds. The game difference was FT's.

All of Northeastern's starters essentially played 30+ minutes. Our guys got a lot of rest, especially our guards. Let's hope that plays out with tired legs and poor shooting in the 2nd half for Northeastern.

Sure makes for good team chemistry and a better roadtrip when everyone gets some solid court time in the first game.

They had 5 points off the bench in their Elon win. And a freshman averaging 12 points a game exploded for 32. 2 guys took 57% of their shots. Let’s wear them down and test their depth.

Coen is a very good coach and they will bring their best.

If you believe Coen’s tweet that they are not going to help in the post then Knight should have huge game!

Hofstra forces 14.4 turnovers and Elon forces 12.3, so if you adjust for that having 4 more TOs against Hofstra is like having 2 more against equal opponents at forcing turnovers.

RE: CAA Game #3 - @ Northeastern
For those of you who like Jay's call of the Tribe games, but want to use FloSports for the picture, you can always try to sync up the two and mute the TV announcers.
You will need to have the radio broadcast, through the WTYD Listen Live link or the Tribe's Tune In link, in a second browser. Just check which broadcast is being received quicker and then pause that broadcast the same number of seconds as the difference, before restarting it and it should stay matched up the rest of the way.

The only trick may be if the TV/FloSports broadcast is the leading broadcast (play happens before Jay's call). If so, you may have to pause the video again, after halftime, because, for some reason, the TV/Flo stream resets itself to LIVE after the half.

RE: CAA Game #3 - @ Northeastern
Jay will always be the best, but I did watch the replay of the Northeastern/Elon game and the Northeastern broadcast guys were very good.

Murphy was not in uniform Thursday night, but was on the sideline in sweats, with no foot boot and appeared to be walking well. Let's hope he is still not available today. Imagine he will need to shake a lot of rust and work back in condition when he does return.

With typical freshman inconsistency, hard to believe Tyson Walker will approach his 32 point performance from Thursday night. Roland, as a scorer, will force shots just to try and get his numbers. Just need to play solid D.

Defense is going to have to win us this game. NE is a very efficient offense with versatile players that can score in more than one way.

The two guards are really good...and quick. Luke, Tyler, Thornton and Bryce will have their hands full today.

Hopefully Hamilton's minutes will go down as Scott gets healthier. I would rather see Scott and Ayesa get more minutes - Hamilton is just a black hole on offense

Looks like it is going to be a very even game. Gotta take care of the ball. No wasted possessions. We are going to need them all.

I don't understand that foul call on Knight there. Boursiquot was practically hip checking him and they call the foul on Knight...
