Despite the barrage of 3s from MT in the 2nd half I still like the makeup of the team now without Dickens and Godwin. Maybe that's just me.

Nope, not just you. I think the team looked more relaxed and more cohesive without them

Greene is just way to nonchalant with the ball. Oliver blows a point blank put back. Can't buy a basket in last 10 minutes I watched.
Glad we stomped a terrible team, but I did not see anything to give me hope we'll be a contender.

College basketball is a game of runs. We had ours then they had theirs, then we had ours again. I'll take the win.

Absolutely. Passing the ball more willingly. It doesn't hurt there is a lot more minutes to be spread among true team players.

I agree about the cohesiveness. There were a few times that Wade ended up on the floor after play and his teammates came running over to help him up. Loved seeing that.

Agree that they looked better on offense. It makes a difference when they pass the ball more instead of mindlessly dribbling it, a few shots drop, and they hit a decent percentage of their foul shots.
On the negative side, they have won two games in a row but both were at home against bad teams. Not much to get excited about other than the fact that CUSA seems to have its fair share of bad teams this season so some more wins are certainly available to be taken before the season ends.

RE: MTSU
This game was really a tale of 2 halfs. I guess I expected to see more of Empty Sue’s 2nd half in the first half. Was it our defense or did they just start hitting their shots? We did hurt ourselves with the sloppy passes. I’m not feeling a lot of confidence with our press offense. It looks timid and passive. But our free throw defense was amazing! And we were hitting our own free throws which was great to see. I found it odd that Empty Sue started dropping their whole team back on free throws considering how many they were missing. You can’t get any rebounds that far from the basket. Great games by Wade. He can take it to the rim with the best of them. And when they dropped down to help he kicked it out to Oliver for a 3. I liked the energy from Kalu. I think he had about 4 rebound on the possession he kept missing the tap ins. If he keeps working hard those will go in. And how about the clutch free throws from Curry. Makes me feel better about him having the ball in his hands at the end of the game. Good game, looking forward to Saturday.

I'm really liking AJ Oliver, the guy is a player. Wade is a tough as nail player, both Sophomores

Good summation. The only head-hanging that I saw coming from any of our players last night was from Kalu - - who was clearly frustrated with the missed tap ins, and who also was treated to a face full of Coach Jones for some sort of missed defensive assignment.

That's because Dajour Dickens wasn't there to provide 0 effort and 0 production.

RE: MTSU
J Wade is the MAN against undersized teams. Dude is tough down low. Like to see someone who can finally finish through contact from inside 3 ft. Great 1st half from the squad, mediocre 2nd half, but glad we pulled it out.
Really looking for growth from Reese and Alfis. They are going to get opportunities now - time to cash in.

I thought Alfis looked decent last night. Made some beautiful passes (including a long bounce pass to Zip who had his man posted up down low) and played some good D I thought. He didn't score but it was obvious the shots he took were part of the offensive plan, nothing just jacked up.

+1 Wade had a mismatch down low, posted up the smaller defender and took him to school.
Liking Reece, jury still out on Alfis. We now have a very short bench. Before the departures, I thought we were deep. Not so much now.
JJ got worked up in the 2nd half with Curry and Kalu. What's the word on Hunter, doghouse, grades?
