I saw this article today. Pro Football Focus rated Crum as the 16th best pro prospect QB among the bowl teams. I believe it was written before the game too. With his stock on the rise, his performance in the money games next year could be very important. If he were to lead us to a win or at least some respectable showings it could go a long way towards getting him drafted.

I'd love to see him on the Browns, but I actually think the Browns got a good one. Seibert is 23-27 as a rookie (85%) with no misses under 40 yards. That's a pretty solid rookie year. There have been some great college kickers that were an absolute mess in the pros in recent years, Seibert doesn't appear to be one of them.

Hasn’t missed under 40 yards if you don’t count the 4 extra points.

I like it, burden. He hasn’t missed if you don’t count his misses. I think I have some instances in my life I need to apply that to. 04-cheers

I don't count a missed extra point as a missed FG under 40 yards... Because it's not a FG. There's a lot that's wrong with the Browns and a rookie kicker missing 4 extra points in his first 15 games isn't super high on my list of concerns.

They are still short kicks and can easily be a FG the next time. He’s been okay but he hasn’t proven himself on pressure kicks and I think extra points do put some extra pressure on a kicker (not suppose to miss and put your team in a position to have to go for two later in the game). It could be a sign of things to come. I do agree that the Browns have much bigger problems though.

Not bad, two spots behind Jalen Hurts.

Missed extra points in the NFL are up since they made it longer. The league percentage used to be greater than 99% and lately it has averaged around 94%.

"Small" market baseball teams can't keep a Lindor, and only a very few FBS teams don't have to worry about losing a coach. Sports tend to follow the latest fad, and the fad in football now seems to be promoting a head coach from within. If that trend stays hot, that would mean mid-major coaches would have fewer opportunities, unless they are willing to become an assistant at a big-name program.

The Browns kicker is 28/32 or 87%. Not terrible but not average either.

Anyone else getting the targeted ads on social media for champion merch? Are these legit? Does this stuff happen regularly? I've never been on a winning fan base before.

As far as Lewis goes, I think we all agree he's eventually gone and I'm fine with it. I just hope he's patient enough and smart enough to realize he's the youngest coach in D1 and he's starting to make a name for himself. A big money offer from an also ran Big10 school would be a good way to cash a check but not a good way to become an elite coach for a long period of time. The MAC as a whole loses coaches when they have success so it's a great conference to come in and be able to quickly turn around a program (if you're good) because dynasties can't last. It's much more difficult in big conferences because the successful programs and coaches don't go anywhere. Hazel's a great example. No matter how good he was he wasn't going to go into Purdue and out recruit OSU, Penn St, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan St, etc. The deck is just stacked like that. So wait for the right job, not the first job then we can talk about how Nick Saban, Lou Holtz, and Sean Lewis all came from Kent.

RE: Frisco Bowl - KSU vs. USU
anti-zip, you are right. There have been articles about how a small handful of FBS super-powers are dominating recruiting. I heard that Ohio State got more top 100 recruits last week than the rest of the Big 10 combined, and that a majority of 5-star recruits went to either them, Alabama, LSU, Clemson or Georgia. You can add Auburn, too, who was rated 5th or 6th in signings last week. It would be so hard to win and win big at so many Big Ten schools now. Even at Nebraska that used to be at the top at the heap. I can understand the temptation a mid-major coach would have to go to an Illinois or Purdue, etc., with the prestige and money, but Lewis or any other mid-major coach should be very careful about just how they move up the ladder.

Wow that puts as the top ranked Qb from the MAC - ahead of the All-MAC selections!

A friend of mine told me something pretty funny today. Todd McShay was on a podcast last week and he was asked to give his top lock for the bowl season and he said LSU beating Oklahoma. However, he offered another sure fire lock saying that Utah State was going to pound Kent St. I thought it was amusing that based on the comments on this thread from fans on both sides it seems like the two fanbases expected a tough game, but the ESPN "expert" expected a blow out... And was very wrong.

Who is Todd McShay?

He's the ESPN NFL draft expert. He loves the USU QB so that's why he was convinced they'd "roll" us.

He heard their QB “rolled” pretty well leading up to the game. So glad they decided to dress a player that should’ve been suspended, it’s always better beating a team with no excuses.

They'll blame the refs but it saved them from facing JB
