We love to schedule this team, but we need to replace this game with either NSU or Hampton. A game of local interest. It appears MD-ES plays the majority of their non-conference games collecting checks as they play on the road and get their teeth kicked in. We shouldn’t contribute to their self-inflicted abuse.

Is every player he ever recruits of the same personality? Not everyone reacts the same in a given situation.

Of course this is JJ's fault. If he didn't have rules nobody would break them.

I agree with this, MD-ES only had one D1 home game during the non-conference play. I feel bad for their players. I still don't get how we get home football games vs ACC opponents, but can't get P5s to come to the Ted.

I agree with this, MD-ES only had one D1 home game during the non-conference play. I feel bad for their players. I still don't get how we get home football games vs ACC opponents, but can't get P5s to come to the Ted.

One reason is because the P5 coaches want to come in on Friday night and go to the local high school football games to recruit.

Yes, there is this perception from fans that aren't connected that players hate Jones because he yells on the sidelines.

I disagree. The perception is that this level/type of coaching is out of date unless it is delivered by a coach with a track record of getting players to the NCAA's or next level of competition. Why get scolded for four years if there is no payoff in the end?

How can you disagree? People have directly said that on this board.

The players that have been through here have seen success. Its unfortunate that Trey did not get to the NCAAs, but he got a deep NIT run that the players really enjoyed.

The players don't believe that they've wasted 4 years here and for the overwelming majority don't think the yelling is a big deal. It's only fans that seem to care about that.

This thread reminds me of that communication exercise where people stand in a circle, then whisper a message to the person beside them. By the time the message has made all the rounds, it bears little resemblance to the original one. I see this on message threads all the time. A person says " I wonder how the players feel about JJ's cursing at them in public?" a simple question, to "The players hate being cursed" to "How do you know the players hate being cursed? to "The players hate JJ."

People seem to add words to a statement to conform to what they think the author means.

Thankfully MOST of our players aren’t as soft as some of our fans.
Some of the best coaches out there scream their heads off the entire game. Tom Izzo comes to mind. John Calipari. The list goes on.
