DL - Ron'Dell Carter Defensive Player of the Year
Where are you seeing Carter named the Defensive POTY? From what fcsinsider claims, ADA hasn't named him yet.
Quote:From the 11 All-America Team honorees, an Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year will be announced on January 8, 2020, in advance of the FCS National Championship Game. The Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year recipients will be recognized at the FCS national championship contest in Frisco, Texas, during an on-field presentation.

You're right! I swear I saw he had that next to his name earlier but maybe I'm just seeing the invisible text haha. I'll fix it for now.

Not an official accolade - but nice WaPo write up on Daka
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/20...ing-sport/

Really a bit surprised how many of these award voters haven’t shown him much love. Hopefully that changes by year end.

i honestly think it's as simple as we're making it.

1.) they saw that Ron'Dell is the CAA DPOY
2.) many don't want to put two JMU guys on the 1st team (although that has now happened on at least one list)
3.) they're not sure which should be on 1st team and which should be on 2nd team, so Carter gets the nod because he was CAA DPOY

i'm not a football expert, but i know a few things. i don't see an enormous difference between Carter and Daka AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL. i realize why Carter has more of an "NFL body" and probably has better position flexibility, i'm not talking about that. i'm talking about college dominance, production, and ability. that's how these lists are made, it has nothing to do with predicting NFL success.

Daka is a 1st teamer without a doubt. that's not me being a homer. the numbers bear it out. the tape bears it out. he's a 1st teamer, period.

Carter made Walter Camp (only 1 team/25 players) but he was the only JMU player. NDSU had 4, SDSU & Nichols each had 2.

The Walter Camp list is going to look pretty weak after Daka and other JMU studs snubbed by Camp dismantles NDSU.

Lance wins the Payton
http://www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=...m=&src=FCS

The fact the Dinucci isn’t not only in the Top 5, but not not even among the 26 vote getters, and VU’s Smith is 9th, and TU’s Flacco is 13th, shows you how much of a joke the Payton is.

The exclusion of DiNucci does taint the award this year, even more so with Flacco receiving as many votes as he did. Unbelievable. Here’s to hoping Ben illustrates later this morning exactly how outrageous the 2019 Payton voting results are by throughly destroying the smelly Bison.

Easy explanation, Payton Award voters must have read all the negative comments about DiNucci on this board.
