Season stats: 74 tackles, 7 Pass Deflections, 2 blocked FG's and 1 safety. Played quite a bit of CB this year due to injuries and lack of depth. Competed against many high P5 WR & RB this past season. Top game vs. Gonzaga (DC), who was ranked #7 in the country at the time...played FS that game (17 tackles, 2 PD's). GO ROCKETS!

Congrats to your son and good luck with the rest of the process, that's great news that he's on the radar like that! Has he had any looks at the FCS or D2 level?

Thank you...yes, he's had a lot of FCS interest since last spring. Most schools seem to be waiting to see what happens with the early signing period as well. He likes the underdog role...just adds more fuel to the fire.

Lost count how many times good baseball players have beaten Toledo football/basketball teams for state championships. Just happened to Central Catholic, a team with yeah some good football players but supported by baseball candidates.

Grab that kid.

Tampa rocket, heading down your way (Anna Marie Island) this weekend. Have your son keep plugging away, good things happen to those that don't know the meaning of quitting.

Thanks for the kind words everyone...I really appreciate it. We hope a spot opens up for him at UT, however, it looks like they already have 2 Safeties committed. Who knows what will happen...would be really cool to see my son play where I did, but it's his journey.

Springboromark...Enjoy Anna Maria. That's one of my favorite places to visit. Very laid back and not commercialized like almost every other beach in FL.

Still kinda old Florida but getting crowded. Garth Brooks allegedly just purchased the place we used to stay. Hope your son is hugely successful wherever he lands (unless it’s “you know”). Tim Schirra was on here for awhile and had a son who was like 6’3” in sixth grade or something. Wonder if he’s college age yet and playing anywhere. Love the legacy players!

BGSUX has 26 commit to Toledo's 14.
They probably won't be #1 after national signing day in February.

I will bet the lowest rated Rocket is higher than the 14th rated sucks recruit. I don't like the rankings because they seem to value Quantity over Quality I prefer the other way around

I’m sure we will look a lot better after signing day. And our average * number is over 83 those other guys are about two points lower

My only concern is that Candle and his staff haven't done a good job developing talent consistently over the last few years. We have always brought in elite talent during those years. Campbell seems to have no problem beating Big 12 teams with his lower ranked recruiting classes. Toledo players seem to not improve year to year.

I'd agree a whole lot more if you thought they haven't done a good job game planning or making adjustments in game. But individual development? That's been their strong point hasn't it?

There's a whole lot of talent between our recruits and those coming in as freshmen to bigger programs expected to be on NFL rosters someday that never get a sniff.

I guess I'm not sure what you're thinking of when you say "elite" talent. Under appreciated or underdeveloped talent maybe? Getting them on-board to coming here is a sign of good talent evaluation and recruiting no?

Agree. The bigger the class you have the more points you get. Always look at the average recruit rating.

I’d imagine that’s a contributing factor in the departure of our 2019 OC, DC and LB coaches.
