I’m not buying the allegations one bit. Coach said it’s a disgruntled parent and it’s scary to think what people stoop to these days.

Parents are the number one reason that coaches below the college level are quitting coaching so often and why officials are, too. In fact, in some areas there is an official shortage. It's no surprise to me that this is creeping up into the college level, too. These days almost everyone thinks their kid is a superstar and will ultimately make big money in the pros, if only the coach doesn't get in the way.

And of course coach is getting in the way of their son making millions in the NFL when he can’t get on the field for that program. Also, front page allegations sell and get people fired, so when you say a coach is racist it makes people pay attention, however in this case they accused him of treating the black players better yet it appears the parents are the racists.

"This is a ridiculous allegation that will be proven false by players and trainers and everyone around here. It comes from a single disgruntled parent who has a kid that was not getting to play. They have been threatening me all year long that if their kid didn't play they had friends who could get me fired. They have used racial slurs saying I treat black players better than other players. This will all come out in the end to be false."

If you lined up all the football coaches I have personally met and asked me which one would these allegations be made against, Coach Martin would be without doubt the absolute last coach I would guess. And I've known some real quality human beings who were also football coaches. (And a only a very few who I would tend to believe were capable of a variety of bad behavior.) I have no doubt this will turn out in his favor.

No idea if this is relevant to this situation or not... But another aspect of racism claims against a coach is it's almost a sure fire way to get an NCAA waiver to not have to sit out a year when you transfer. If the NCAA thinks you had reason to believe you were discriminated against they'll grant you the waiver and that's a hot button topic that they're very unlikely to challenge even if they think it's questionable.

I’ve never heard of a white player claiming a white coach was biased against him because he’s white. That’s a new level of goofy.

I think that in this day and age the only bias any coach has is towards winning, and who can best help them win.

Lol I did not realize that was the situation here... That's absurd.

I agree 100% on all of that, I believe in Coach Martin. Unfortunately, given his poor record I could see this being too easy to let him go.

I’m guessing he’s not welcoming his own locker room anymore based on his and his parents comments and allegations, and might have a hard time fitting into his new locker room wherever he transfers.
