RE: Time to make a statement in our bowl games...
Our AD said today the Belt bowls picked in this order: 1. NO took champ as mandated 2. Mobile 3. montgomery 4. Orlando. 5. Arizona
So of the 7-5 teams the order was Ark St picked first then Ga Southern then Ga St

NOLA with an MWC or AAC tie-in for the Belt will be much better.
How would it be any different? The MWC nor the AAC would even consider sending their champ there so you'll still just end up playing their 2nd or 3rd place team. When it comes to the AAC probably more like 3rd or 4th.

So, #20 App State vs #19 Memphis wouldn't be an interesting matchup to the CFB faithful?

It isn't the matchup, it's the NO Bowl. The AAC Champ and the MWC Champ both have much better bowl options. Neither will ever agree to send their champion to the NO Bowl.
The SBC shouldn't tie its champion down to the NO Bowl. Let the Champion pick whatever bowl game it thinks is best for it that particular year.

RE: Time to make a statement in our bowl games...
I'm sure no one here cares what I think but here goes.
Certainly App State deserved better this year. They had a fantastic season and should have gotten a shot at a better opponent.
The MAC, Sun Belt, and CUSA struggle to get bowl games vs P5s it seems. AAC and MW seem to have no trouble getting P5 bowl opponents.
Therefore: would you rather
play CUSA runner up and west champ UAB or MAC champ Ohio?
Play CUSA champ FAU or a MTW or AAC mid level team (UCF, SMU, Tulane, Utah State, San Diego State, Wyoming, Nevada)
There are a couple of teams in there (UCF and SMU particularly) that I would think you would want to play, but those are also the opponents that our champ and runner up in the East are playing.
All that said, I just don't think there are that many good options out there for trades to have happened.
Good news is App is ranked in the top 25 and even without it's coach stands a good chance to dominate UAB who looks better on paper than they really are (CUSA west champs and runner up, 9-4). It's a good opportunity to win without your coach and look good doing it. Finish the season in the top 25 and be ready to go even further next year. Not ideal by any means, but I think there are some positives to be found.

That is never going to be an option thats my point. The AAC nor the MWC will send their champ to play the Sunbelt champ so instead your champ will end up playing like the 4th place AAC team instead.

Just a look at some of the bowl opponents of CUSA and the MAC
Marshall is playing UCF
La Tech is playing Miami
FAU is playing SMU
CMU plays SDSU
EMU is playing Pitt
Meanwhile App gets the CUSA runner up and UL gets an 8-5 G5 team. We've done fine in bowls so far but we really need to come out and make a strong statement to help us get better bowl tie-ins befitting the #3 G5 conference and not the pre-2013 Sun Belt.
Yeah and our coach is leaving for Mizzou and y’all get liberty what a smack in the face for this whole joke of a conference.
