Can't think this shouldn't have happened. UVA hasn't scored much even against bad teams. Their defense is what burns you.

Big Ten is going to break NET. Monster non-conference they've had. Here's to the likelihood of more sub-.500 teams in the top 50-70 by the end of conference play.

On the road. Chicago State won't break the 56-game record road losing streak...this time. Bigger question is, when you average about one win a season against D1 teams over the last four seasons, is this it for them for 2019-20?

Any idea when the NCAA will start publishing the current NET rankings? I remember last year they started doing it mid-November. I'm guessing they're holding off due to the backlash they received the first month or two from the rankings being so poor due to the small sample size.

week from Monday.

This one is an absolute baffler. As we all know, for the past however many seasons, Virginia has suffered many games in which it score fewer than 50. But a mere 40 points? I just don't get it.

And on a similar theme ... the Tar Heels losing to Ohio State by 23 in Chapel Hill with 3:30 to go. As a long-time UNC follower conditioned to seeing high-scoring offenses from Roy Williams, this is sad.

Apparently everyone who could actually SCORE for the Cavs came out early after the NCAA tournament last Spring?

I just read an ESPN blurb that noted the same thing. The Cavs (I've yet to see this year on TV) apparently don't have anybody who can create his own shot.

The Heels might not either, other than Cole Anthony.

I'd be keeping an eye on Nebraska, Northwestern, and Rutgers as the season progresses. Just being in the same arena as Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland, Michigan State, and Purdue is bound to propel even the basement of the Big Ten way up. And if you happen to beat any of these guys, and not much else, are you a top 100 team?

Well, that's one way Alabama's NET won't be so bad. The same as Kentucky getting by Michigan State now that the Big Ten is going to float to the top of the heap. Things are looking up for the SEC.

I love when you see teams with Big Upsets come back to earth soon thereafter...

Oklahoma St last week beat Syracuse and Ole Miss(by 41)

they then come back at home and lose to Georgetown by 7, and now Wichita they're losing by 19.

Its not at all impressive to beat SU this season. They are AWFUL! Worst start in Boeheims career and worst start for Syracuse in at least 50 years.

Go Texas Tech

That means so far this season that Louisville, Virginia and North Carolina have all suffered blowout losses. Hmm...…

Interesting Note for the Board:

As of tonight there are only 2 unbeaten basketball teams remaining in the Power 5 conferences: Ohio State and Auburn. And in basketball it is truly more of the P6 including the Big East where only 1 remains unbeaten, Butler. But tonight they find themselves down 10 at the half against Baylor.

RE: Laughable Scores- College Basketball- December
With the win over Maryland, I suspect Penn State's about one or two more big conference wins away from an invite. Last night was huge for them.

I'm scratching my head at that line for the Temple-St. Joe's game. Temple killed the Hawks, and smashed those lines. The overall A10 composite is going to inflate Saint Joe's numbers a little, but, if you're UConn, you really need to start taking care of business with the rest of the schedule, because that loss is going to hurt. Yikes, it is getting bad out there in West Philly.

Oh, and then there was this gem:

UMass-Boston 69
Holy Cross 66
F/OT

UM-B is D3.

Or Seton Hall isn’t going.

Xavier laid an egg, too. And I don’t know if Villanova is not very good, or if Delaware might be the team to beat in CAA...

could be both.

Seton Hall probably will be w/o Powell on Thursday vs Maryland. Would be 5 OOC losses- to go 7-5 OOC. They might need 10 or even 11 conference wins to make the tourney.

It's still December, but with Rutgers and Seton Hall, best guess is: Rutgers still isn't that good, it's a bad loss for Seton Hall, and Seton Hall will need a really good W-L record in Big East conference games to make the NCAA tournament.

Was at the RAC, unbelievable game. Seton Hall was awful in the first half though. Had no interest playing a ball game in that environment.
