Norvell did not quite make it

I think he got it, but even if understandable and perfectly professional and expected, he gave it up when he told the FSU kids it was easy to make the move and he is proud they chose FSU, as he did

I get the spin and I get all of it. The only real punishment is he loses the privilege of being a Memphian. For the rest, all is good. Glad he did well, glad that while he was here he gave back

Get the FSU AD to schedule a home and home with Memphis at the earliest opportunity and he can get some Memphis back

It's cool to see the impact that all the stadium upgrades and uniform options we now have has an effect on our legends who had very little when they played for the UofM.

DeAngelo is right about the attendance issue. Folks need to stop being lazy and staying home to watch the games. I couldn't agree more.

If I were the UofM I would work to get local games blacked out in Memphis so they have no choice but to go. That'll fix the attendance problem. It may piss off the lazy couch potatoes, but it would benefit the program in the long run.

It's a nice thought, but in exchange for maybe 10,000 extra fans in attendance, you are cutting off access to a few hundred thousand fans that will watch $EC teams instead. Worse than that, you are going to cut off fans that have a difficult time getting to the stadium, elderly fans, fans with small children, fans that can't afford tickets.

Just keep building the brand and little by little we are tearing away tiny portions of other fanbases in the midsouth every year.

Be good to have Deangelo do some commercials for ticket sales, really explaining to the people that your attendance MAKES A DIFFERENCE! Some people just dont get it. When you are IN THE STADIUM you are part of the action and we each influence the game to a small degree. Dont sit on your ass at home and be a non-participant...be there and be PART OF THE TEAM. They fed off our energy. You think that team isnt going to play harder and better for 60K, than 30K? Stadium and school
Needs to help - 1) lower prices for upper-most tickets to $9.01. 2) Improve WiFi. 3) improve parking and exit flow after games. 4) Give away something to a fan every game (like they used to do with TVs at basketball games. 5). Show every replay and maximize fan experience.

Norvell wasn't born in Memphis. His association with Memphis was as the football coach. But in that capacity, he embraced the city like few others who have been the Memphis football coach. To now criticize him for embracing the community around FSU is ridiculous. Norvell has given to Memphis every bit as much as he received, probably more. I thank him for his hard work to build our football program & rep Memphis in the process & I wish him nothing but the best in his new challenge at FSU where he can legitimately pursue a national championship. In my mind he will always be a favorite son of Memphis.

If you interpret the idea that he did well and embraced th city but by leaving and publicly saying he chose FSU etc...

As criticism then that is on you

I am simply stopping short of bestowing on him the highest Memphis honor

Becoming a Memphian. He falls short of that. Considering I lauded him outside of that you are just looking to fight.

The 2017 Philadelphia Eagles were a very good football team and earned their Super Bowl win. But I stop short of saying they are one of the best of all time.
Is that criticism?

Brought us our first championship in nearly a lifetime. Left us in better shape than anyone has. Left us with a great staff and possibly our new HC. He's a Memphian, always will be.

that is an uninformed statement, even from you.

ALL of the biggest games Memphis games in the Liberty Bowl were televised, every big game football and basketball is televised all over the country.
