Just curious. When a distant source tweets information about candidates none of us seem to be aware of, where is that info coming from? Inside ODU sources or from the 2 different schools mentioned?

A lot of the times it comes from the coach’s agent, trying to get his guy’s name out there.

Also linked to Colorado State job. Close to home for him.

I like everything I am reading about Ricky Rahne. See below. I think he would be a very good choice. I am all for my fellow Ivy Leaguer. I hope he is the guy.

Apparently, he may be in town this weekend. Allegedly.

And then again, he may not be in town this weekend. Allegedly. Where'd you get your "info?"

Rahne an "ascending superstar" per ESPN last year:

Good article. Although I will say that that article was published before Rahne began as PSU's offenseive coordinator, and his job at that is what I think most PSU fans are criticizing.

An interesting perspective on Rahne, this from the "inside".

See the article below. I don't think you have any basis for saying "most fans" think that way. You have to take what some posters say with a grain of salt. As I said earlier, how bad can an OC be if his team ranked 10th in the country.

Would we really be mad about getting the Offensive Coordinator for the #10 team in the nation? A team that averages over 400 yards of offense and 35 points a game? I would be thrilled to get Rahne or Beamer.

I am excited for this hire. I think it would be good for Rahne to bring in a whole new offensive staff but keep Blackwell and the defensive staff. Would be good for continuity and keeping recruiting class. I think Rahne can do wonders with Wolff.

And, I assume Gault would stay as strength and conditioning coordinator. He has probably been a good resource for Rahne in learning about ODU program.

I'm not too good to scoff at those numbers and their ranking. But man, I will say that a 400+ post thread on their 247 message board demanding he be fired isn't really very encouraging.

Penn State posters aren’t any smarter than ODU posters. I take their opinions with a grain of salt.

Fans are dumb about coordinators.

Coaches will make mistakes and some of it is due to the mistake made against OSU. But, i dont care about the mistake, I care if he learned from it.

This guy is impressive to me. None of us know how well he will do.

The following post on the PSU site does bother me, but I hope he is just an ill-informed fan. It sounds too much like Brian Scott and what we have been living through. I will keep my hopes up though. He must be doing something right:

"We have no short pass options no slants no HB angles absolutely zero pulling schemes or outside run plays it’s just a modified football offense."

I did read him say when he took the psu oc job that they would rarely use a fullback or QB under center
