Next season, we lose very little in the way of offensive and defensive talent...and I think coming back would do very little to harm his reputation any.

Yes.

Perhaps I am wrong but I thought Brady White was immediately eligible as a grad transfer and that was a one time exception which would mean he would have to sit a year if he transferred which would effectively exhaust his eligibility.

I think you are correct.

In 2019, Alabama has lost to the Clemson Tigers, the LSU Tigers, and the Auburn Tigers.

I like our chances.

He might love White, but not taking a job to be with him for a year is literally the last thing on his mind.

I think it factors in more to the sense that he is set up for a really good next year and he can hold off until a great job comes his way. FSU fits that profile though. It's much easier to win in the ACC than SEC.

Yes.

Wouldn't he have to sit out a year? And isn't next year his senior year?

Not just that. I think he has a masters (or two) and is now working on a doctorate, iirc.

How a transfer would work at this point, I have no clue.

Ask yourself why

Because coach's realize FSU is not what it used to be. Their facilities are way behind the big boys.

I agree this has to be our #1 candidate if Norvell leaves right?

Top 50 in yards with 430 and top 15 in points scored against a schedule that includes Louisville, Navy, Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, USC, and Virginia Tech.

If or when Norvell leaves, Silverfield is probably the leading candidate

Hopefully we use the same process and outside firm that we used to hire Fuente and Norvell. Get the best coach in the US. If he already is on staff, the process will find him.

I agree. Unlike Fuente, he has given no indication that he is leaving. Still, doesn't mean he won't, but I think he stays 1 more year.

If he stays I'd guess it's because of reasons other than a player's eligibility.

I'm intrigued to see what MN's post-Brady White plan is for QB.

How a transfer would work at this point, I have no clue.

His case would be unusual and it's really unclear. I've been looking for an answer all season, and have not found it.

There is a "one-time transfer exception" that allow immediate eligibility in all sports except football, basketball, and baseball (where the money is). The stipulation is, as the term indicates, it's a one-time only exception over the course of a player's eligibility.

The "graduate transfer exception" is referred to as a route to replace the "one-time exception" for the money sports. This exception has the same guidelines (academic standing, eligibility, etc.) it simply requires the player to graduate first.

The confusion is that it doesn't specifically say the grad transfer exception is a one-time only exception. I guess they didn't plan on grad transfers with multiple years of eligibility.

My bet is that the NCAA would frown upon another immediately eligible transfer for Brady. Although, I'm sure Brady would like to be on the bigger stage. It would be curious to see if Norvell would pursue that. He loves Memphis, so I could certainly see him telling the team that he does not want any transfers. At the same time, he did bring some from ASU.

That scares me, if we play Alabama in a bowl game, with them coming off a loss with Saban having a month to prepare....we are going to die.

Their offensive and defensive line would maul us.

It might be just me but I want no part of Bama
