Did your team's season just end?
Mine did. USF's season ended on Friday with the blowout lost to the Erector Set To The Northeast.

Our season lasted all of 91 days, from the August 30 loss to Wisconsin to Friday's debacle.

In contrast, it is now day 2 of a 281 day gap until our next game, September 5, 2020 vs Texas.

So while discussing all the bowl permutations for teams still playing, have a heart for the 50 or so teams who won't play again for more than 9 long months.

That's one reason CFB is so great, we get so little of it.

For my school, yes, SJSU finished 5-7

But for the school I grew up 10 miles away from campus and root for in my blood, 12-0 and off to the B1G CCG then Playoffs.

Nope, our season goes on after we pounded the school to the west that plays in a rented stadium with a pirate ship.

OK, I have to ask: Why do you call UCF an "Erector Set"?

Frankly early signing and NSD are the biggest events of Collins first year at GT. While there is no football being played by GT anymore the recruiting was always the most important part of year zero.

Did your team's season just end?
Yes, and we (Rice) are brimming with optimism on a sweet 3 game win streak. Our posters are asking if it’s the first time an 0-9 team has won the last three games and the only thing I could think of to compare was the team who actually rents out the aforementioned pirate ship (2-12 in their second year after an 0-26 start)

Our rivalry (not quite annual) game is already circled on the calendar for opening day next year, at crosstown Houston. “It’ll be like our bowl game” but we should be on track to bowl eligibility next year -at a minimum- as we return most key production and literally* played everyone including Baylor close this year.

We’re on a roll and I’m sure would love to have a shot at another scalp this bowl season, but we’re biding our time and While I don’t guarantee much in sports, In guarantee we’ll be ready for Houston next September! (And whoever their quarterback turns out to be) Can D’Eriq come out and play?! Hahaha!

Yes - not a great year. My only hope is we fire the Baseball coach masquerading as an Athletic Director

Yes - Rutgers and South Carolina are done. The good news for some if you are on the Schiano boat is that Rutgers has hired Schiano back and finally has got the albatross of hiring a new coach off it's back. Was at the South Carolina / Clemson game Saturday. $20 million dollar buyout for Muschamp should get him another year with the injuries SC has had this year. Besides he got SC to bowls his first three years, and has the Georgia upset in his back pocket this year. 07-coffee3

Well, I don't know if you can rightly call Schiano a NEW coach...

Your right - it is a rehire but the boosters and Rutgers Schiano backers went ballistic up here when negotiations when south. 07-coffee3

My team South Alabama saw their season end on Friday after beating Ark State to end the year 2-10.
It has been a mess of season with lots of struggles, especially on offense. The past few games we made a qb change and the offense is doing better.
Hopefully with a good recruit class and the improvement late in year will carry over to next season.

He was a good baseball coach though.

He was. Really terrible decision by all involved to elevate a HOF coach in his prime to a position he was horribly suited for.

What’s crazy is as bad as we were, we should have also beaten both Georgia Southern and Texas State, and we played competitive games against Nebraska, ULM, and 10-win Louisiana. With non-dreadful special teams we win 4 games (GS and TXST). If we started Trotter at QB earlier in the season, who knows what could have happened. I was down on the Jags, but it’s amazing what one decent win at the end of the season can do. Let’s hope we can get some momentum out of that game going into 2020 in our new stadium. Go Jags!

Thankfully yes! Holy crap, just a bit of improvement. 03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead

Quote:Bamford said bowl eligibility is the target, but it might take a while.

I think (Bell’s) year four (2022) and year five (2023), we’re looking at bowl eligibility. In year two (2020), you’re going to see a little bit of an uptick. In year three (2021), I think you’re going to see a better uptick. We’re going to be deeper,” Bamford said. “Three years from now going into year four, he’ll have 75 kids he’s recruited. Now you have something you’ve built and feel good about it.

I have high regard for your coach. Beyond the fact that he is 2-1 vs AState, used to watch his UCA Bears on local TV with the old Southland TV package and felt he had his teams squared away.
