Wish we could see Johnson throw. Hopefully he wins the job outright and after a full year of starting gets a big road win in his home state of Arkansas in 2021 to open the season.

I wonder if a team finishing with three wins has ever won the last three.

And that should do it. Pass incomplete on 4th down. Rice takes over at UTEP 48.

The young Miner QB Hardison looks promising to me...could be scary if he gets some supporting cast

With Locksley, this game would have been entirely different.

I’m certain it’s happened.

I remember when Tampa Bay lost their first 26 NFL games but won their last two to finish their second year 2-12

Now to see about keeping the streak going another 6 games to match the 0-9 start!!!

Owls win

Much better second half. Still, I have to believe that if Locksley hadn’t broken his thumb, the outcome may have been different.

In 2012, Bleacher Report produced their list of the worst 25 college football programs of all time (Rice was 9th, UTEP 7th). Just 7 years later, only 10 of those will have losing records this season, and that includes Idaho, which has dropped to FCS.

Looks like he lead his WR too much in his only attempt, but the potential as a dual threat impact player is evident. He's a better runner than I previously thought. Very patient/good vision and runs the read option really well. We'll see in the spring if he has the chemistry with our talented WR core, and entrenches himself as the guy.

I agree. With his size he’s sneaky fast and pretty hard to bring down. If he can make good decisions throwing and just distribute the ball to receivers at a solid percentage our offense could be much better.

Guess he will have more time for additional DUIs and threatening people with guns.

Decent Win.

We are better than UTEP and it showed. Johnson has potential to be one of the better QBs to wear the OER. He and Green both have ability to make us better. Competition breeds performance.

Recruiting Classes will be crucial from here on out!

Very pleased with the second half offense today, relative to previous weeks. Defense was strong as usual. Last three games of the season provided some solace for the graduating players that we can win games and hope for the younger players and recruits as well

Rice may be better than UTEP when Locksley is in the game.

You don't get the A-team announcers when it's two teams with a combined record of 3-19 in what may be the worst FBS conference in the country.

If we want ESPN's finest, we have to win our way to that. It can be done, but we haven't done it yet.

On the ESPN ap, the one video “highlight” is the Miners TD on the fumbled snap in the endzone. Sigh!
