Boise State & Cotton Bowl
I think Cincy is out unless Boise loses. They’ll drop below Boise this week and probably will stay beneath them regardless of what happens in the American Championship (as long as BSU wins). If the AAC was smart they’d put the fix in now. Nobody wants to see ugly UC football in a big bowl anyways. They’d have no chance.

They'd have a hell of a lot better chance that Boise would.

42-0 against OSU and the perception (reality) is they play a boring style of football. They don’t have enough offense to compete against whoever will be in the Cotton Bowl. Boise sounds like more fun (of the 2). Guess we better take care of business.

RE: Boise State & Cotton Bowl
I really like what Boise State has done, being especially impressed with the years surrounding 2010

They have a really good football team this year

Would really like to set up a home and home with them

But. THIS season they have no business finishing ahead of Memphis if we win next week. Can make a good argument if Cincy gets revenge next week that they would be more deserving too

Not Boise State’s fault that FSU is really down but they are.

We win, we go.

How would Boise have done?

Boise and Cindy have a common opponent in Marshall.

Boise and Cincy would both get smashed in the Cotton Bowl IMO. I couldn’t care less if both lose the rest of their games until the end of time. Go Tigers!

RE: Boise State & Cotton Bowl
It is the highest-ranked G5 conference champion in the playoff poll. The final playoff poll before the bid is given out is due this week. If BSU is ranked higher than Cincinnati this week in the playoff poll then the only way Cincinnati can get the bid is for Hawaii to beat BSU. And that may not be enough if by some chance Cincinnati falls below Appl St.

If we beat Cincinnati next week then 1/3 of our wins would come against Top 25 teams + a win over a P5 school. We go to the Cotton Bowl regardless what Boise does. Case closed.

Been a Tiger fan since 1973 - I'm so used to getting screwed sideways from Sunday that I won't believe a Cotton Bowl berth until they sign the paper.

Boise is not the media darling this year.

We are.

Game day. Three prime spots on national TV at the end of the season.

We are the media choice this time around. It's ours to lose.

Let us beat Bama in the Cotton Bowl, then run the tables next year. It would be hard to justify keeping us out of the CFP.

Not only is this not an issue, but I question anyone who even brings it up over here. If we win, we are in. If we lose, we aren't eligible. Anyone even suggesting BSU might somehow jump us is likely a troll.

Why would Cincinnati move up in the rankings after they lost?

Cinci is currently ranked ahead of Boise St. The question is, would the committee drop Cindy below Boise due to a loss at highly ranked Memphis. If Cindy is still ranked ahead of Boise St this week, then the AAC CCG is a play-in game for the cotton bowl.

And even if the committee does rank CIndy below Boise St, is there a chance Cindy jumps Boise the following week if the beat highly ranked Memphis? Cindy would have a top 15 win, and the two losses would be away losses to the #1 and #16 teams in the nation. Boise has nothing to compare to that.

Everything is based on this week's rankings. If Cincy drops below BSU then their only chance would be if Hawaii wins.

Navy lost the chance of going to a nY6 bowl because they lost to Army AFTER the last poll and AFTER they won the conference championship. There is no more poll after this week, but the committee chooses the highest ranked team during the selection process.

Navy has never won the AAC championship, so they have never qualified for the NY6 bowl.

Boise made a mistake when they backed out of joining the Big East during conference realignment. Would be a really fun conference with them included.

Sorry ... You ever watched one of their games ... In Boise ... In November ... And seen all that White Stuff piled up on the sidelines. That ain't sand, Dude !!! Along with the Blue Field and their Blue Uni's .. That's one hell of a HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE !!! Think 22 degrees ... Playing our brand of football !!! 04-chairshot
You think Hawaii has a chance Saturday in their Championship Game !!! In Boise ... Idaho !!!

No it isn't.

The CFP releases their poll Sunday this week silly.

How do you think the CFP is determined? On THIS weeks rankings or AFTER the games are played Saturday?

Same for the G5 rep. Based on CFP rankings after Saturday's games.

What you are confusing yourself with is determining home field advantage for the AAC title game IF all tiebreakers were exhausted and the CFP ranking were the final tie breaker.

Home field would have been determined on LAST WEEK'S CFP rankings because the schools couldn't have waited until Tuesday night of game week to know where they would be playing.
