Fox's Big Noon Kickoff is cutting into Gameday because of SEC Bias
https://awfulannouncing.com/ncaa/fox-is-...itism.html

The title says it all. I count myself among those that have absolutely no interest in watching ESPN peddle the SEC at every possible opportunity. Fox is pushing Ohio State, Michigan, and the rest of the B1G boys especially Penn State. I think they need to spread a little of that love to Oklahoma, Texas, USC and other prominent Big 12 and Pac 12 games they broadcast.
On another note... I kinda like Big Noon Kickoff. Going back decades now the BigTen always had early slots on ESPN and ESPN 2. I'll watch Big Ten football whatever time it comes on so to me getting that Primetime game early when there are really few other compelling games on was a masterful business move.

it's going to be really interesting to see how next year goes... I think ESPN is going to select more Ohio St weeks to prevent what happened this year. Also next year has 1 fewer off week which means the top games aren't spread out anywhere near as much.

And still- ESPN's gameday is killing Fox Big Noon pregame show.

Two things:

1) ESPN has a P5 bias but not an SEC bias. The idea that ESPN ignores or neglects powers like Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State is absurd.

Heck on Gameday, Herbstreit is a Buckeye and Howard is a Wolverine and they don't hide it.

2) Big Noon Saturday is BORING. Five talking heads holding FOX mics behind Surface tablets. Stiff and dull. Gameday is way more fun.

Fox's strategy, such as it is, is not an "everyone but the SEC" strategy. It's a "get as many Ohio State games as we can" strategy. That only counts as "progress" in the eyes of Ohio State fans.

and it will be interesting if ESPN does anything to mute that next season.

Gameday: Fun
Big Noon Saturday: Actual Analysis

I love gameday, but it’s become a bit of the same thing over and over. I like flipping between the two personally.

Fox is pursuing a "big brands" strategy for Big Noon Saturday. There have been only four weeks when they featured neither Ohio State nor Michigan. In three of those weeks, they showed Oklahoma (vs. Texas Tech, Texas, and West Virginia).

The only week in which Ohio State, Michigan, or Oklahoma were not shown on Big Noon Saturday was Week 10, when they showed Nebraska-Purdue. This happened to be a week when a lot of teams were off. During this week, Michigan played Maryland on ABC.

ESPN have a bias towards Boise State and North Dakota State over other none P5 schools. They are not giving love to Memphis or Cincinnati. They do not have a track record in beating P5 schools like Boise does.

Was game day at Boise this year? Nope.

Was game day at Memphis this year? Yep.

I'd say that's giving love.

As of right now Big Noon Kickoff only goes to teams that they actually broadcast. So they may in theory discuss Cincinnati but they won't bring the show there because they won't broadcast the game.

Well, i guess it depends on how you define 'bias'. I mean, if a network's talking heads frequently say that Clemson is better than VT, is that being biased?

This right here. I love that Fox is competing with ESPN!! 'Bout time!! Truthfully, ESPN has a bias towards anyone that makes them $$$'s. I'm an SEC fan, but I'm not dumb either, because ESPN does have a dark side to them that the P5 just doesn't see, because I am a G5 fan too.

Ready for some fun? Check this out:

"LSU radio postgame show was complaining about FOX's B1G bias."

I'd love to hear the actual audio of this to be sure it's real but it's pretty funny to hear.

Wait am I reading what I think I’m reading here? A bunch of P5 fans complaining about TV pundits who only talk about the same 6-7 P5 teams incessantly?

Aren’t you also the same bunch that want P5 exclusive scheduling?

Stick to the B1G network then. Or do they talk too much about the other teams in the conference besides THE Ohio State University for your liking?
