So.Miss fans have been wanting to leave CUSA since all the ordinal teams moved on. Would much rather play other regional rivals like Louisiana Lafayette and Troy than Old Dominion and UTEP. If I'm not mistaken Marshall and App State and Marshall and Ga Southern have history from their D1-AA days.

Yea, we have a little history with Marshall. We’re 14-8 all time. The Herd have won the last 2. Not sure if Marshall was FBS for both of those.

I welcome Southern Miss to the conference with open arms!!!!

If there is real interest from the administrations of USM and Marshall I think there would be reciprocal interest from the Sun Belt

I would love to have Marshall back in a league with us and App

I think everyone would be accepting of both schools. Other then from a USM poster, where is this coming from, is there any real news about this???

Southern Miss, Marshall and/or UAB for sure. No to Loser Tech. We have enough Louisiana represented.

Don’t think tech would come if ULM was still in the conference. They skipped a bowl because they were scared whey would be seated at the same table as ULM.

Marshall + GS + App = peas and carrots. USM = gravy.

I'm all for Southern Miss being added, and Marshall is another good add, even though they stretch the footprint more than most would like.

I also believe if the Sun Belt adds 2 teams, it is time to move to an all sports league, and let UTA and Little rock go to a non- football conference. allows us to keep the numbers right with 12.

That was my thinking also

Would be great adds and really the only ones I believe of interest to us. ULM has some history with Marshall as well having defeated them in the 1-AA National Championship in 1987. Wish this would happen. Enjoyed coming to Hattiesburg for the game last year. Fun road trip, good atmosphere, and easy drive from Monroe.

USM would be super nice but Marshall is like filet mignon. Keeping with the food narrative. Speaking for Appy and GS I can tell you with confidence that travel is a non issue.

Been a long time since I logged in here but this thread has me very intrigued. South may currently suck at football but in basketball and baseball it’s like the old days. As in those old (my) days, I really want the chance to be a permanent rival with UAB cause that was some good hate.

So USM for the Cajuns and Redwolves and Marshall for App and GS. Sounds like a great compromise to me.

Ugh? How am I stirring the pot? I bet your a young guy if you're happy with So. Miss being in the current format of CUSA?! Its garbage and if you haven't noticed recently alot of our fans are on board with a So. Miss move to the Sun Belt
