I think we might lose this one too if they're a good inside shooting team... meaning they have bigs that know how to get position and put the ball in the hole.

That is one of the things we are really good at. We only allow 43% on 2 point field goals. Im more worried about teams that shoot a lot from 3.

This will be another low scoring game. They have a very efficient offense. They don't hit the offensive glass at all and they shoot very few 3s (and not very well at 30%). But, they shoot 62% from inside the arc, which is 2nd in the nation. It will be a good battle to see good vs. good in terms of interior play (offense vs. defense).

Im surprised they are as big of a fave as they are. Best win against St Joes (204); losses vs. Coppin State (218), and Colorado State (148).

Of course, there is a huge contrast in how we played the first 4 games than the last 3 so if we play like the last 3, we won't win. If we play like the first 4, we win easily.

ODU thus far has not shown themselves to be a good interior defensive team. JMU certainly isn't a juggernaut as far as inside offensive play goes, but they beat ODU at the TED like a drum there. The also outrebounded ODU by 14 I believe, including getting a lot of them on the offensive end. Stats showing ODU only gives up 42% on 2 point field goals doesn't necessarily mean they only give up 42% of field goals shot from the low post (say 1-6 feet out). An 18 foot 2 point jump shot typically isn't as high a percentage shot as a 3 footer off the window.

Most teams with several wins and several losses can say, "if we play like we did against that/those teams we will win, but if we play like we did against those other ones we will lose". In other words, ODU could play it's best in those games and still lose if the other team did as well (not talking about this Loyola game specifically).

This team doesn't have a leader! They are going down the drain and nobody is there to stop it or turn it around!

Down 10 early.

I'll put a positive thought out there. Dave Twardzik is an excellent analyst. Says more with 10 words than most can using 100.

This team has no leadership. Hoping it will develop. Wondering if Wade can impose his will on this team.

Listening to this on the radio, our play reminds me as the Beatles Helter Skelter song.

Is it my imagination or are we getting worse every game. 14 points and the first half is nearly over.

We have life at the end of the half. We'll see.

Again...replacing Amhad is going to be difficult early. It has been said many times that our PG play and overall team play was heavily impacted. I am hoping this team can find it's rhythm by conference play time. I am still saying 18 as the over under on wins.

Thats why it is so important to have a take charge leader on your team. Someone that keeps the team spirit up even when you are losing. My vote would be Aaron Carver or Jason wade or both!

Understood. But losing at home to JMU and possibly going 0 for in this tournament wasn't expected. Hang on, because we are getting to play good teams pretty soon.

Joe Reece has to get more time moving forward. We need him to be experienced by the end of the year.

Reece and Godwin have stepped up in this tournament. No one else has done much.

We get the lead down in most games and can't get over the hump.
