I can’t really argue that, but this game is always crazy and we play better in Lafayette. As well as Evans has played he has never proven able to win the big game.

Looked it up: 8-2 cajuns since 2009.
And a question for any (if there any) Cajun fans: how many of you guys consider ULM a rivalry? Does Cajun Nation consider it one? Asking for a friend.

RE: Game Thread: ULM @Louisiana
Right now the important thing is the Cajuns have an opportunity to have their first season with 10 wins in regular season since the stone age and that should be a huge motivation for this team.
The Cajuns had a game when they did not come out ready a couple of weeks back. I don't think it will happen this week.
I think the Cajuns roll this week.

RE: Game Thread: ULM @Louisiana
There is a bigger rivalry with the ulm fans over our Louisiana branding than any of their sports teams.
im going with a 21+ point win for Louisiana.

Same. My friends are casual fans and this game is drawing the same amount of interest from them as the game against Troy, which is very little interest.
ETA, I will actually have to try and get them to the game by pumping the potential 10 win season over some pseudo rivalry vs ULMost

I never discount a conference game. We've been playing northeast for a long time.

I consider it a rivalry since this is a game we NEVER want to lose. It hurts more than others. AState is a rivalry too.

Playing well against a Hud coached team is one thing.
Napier is no Hud.
Looking forward to greeting our neighbors to the north Saturday.

I feel like Louisiana could play a Top 10 team at home and no one would bat an eye, at this rate.
What would actually get your fanbase up for a game at this point? If I recall correctly, when App first came into the Sun Belt Cajun Field had stands that were full.

I wouldn't say "full" as Cajun Field is the largest stadium in the Belt at 41K+ but we were getting crowds in 25-30K range at least once a year between 2011 and 2014. There has been some ongoing talks and hypotheses on the UL board and social media as to why attendance is down. Some say LSU's success, some say the cost-prohibitiveness of attending a game (which has no basis in actual fact), the continued slump of oil and gas in the gulf, burned bridges from the end of the Hud era, the overall trend of decreased attendance across all of college football. I could go on, but that's just some of the theories.

I can easily see each one of those reasons contributing a bit (LSU being #1 in the country, oil and gas slump, and Hud's burned bridges being the top 3 reasons). the worst thing is having all those things going on durning the same time period thus giving us what we now have for.

ULM is just another team in the conference that happens to be in the same state as us, I wish we played A-State last week of the regular season because most Cajuns fans consider them more of a rival then ULM
