AAC title game permutations
Thanks to Navy's win over SMU, the AAC title game scenario is a bit less clear than it was:
1) If Memphis beats Cincy in Memphis, Memphis and Cincy will play a rematch in the AAC title game, again at Memphis. Period.
2) If Cincy beats Memphis, and Navy loses to Houston, Memphis and Cincy will play a rematch in the AAC title game, at Cincy.
3) If Cincy beats Memphis, but Navy beats Houston, Cincy will play Navy in the AAC title game.
I hope Navy makes the AAC title game, because that will create even more possible NY6 chaos. Heck, Navy could win the AAC title game, but still have the Army game left to play, meaning the CFP would likely wait until after that game to pick the NY6 team.

Good job on this. As a Memphis fan, a Cincy follower/supporter and somebody who hugely respects Navy ... I will be fine with any of the three winning the AAC.

If Navy is the AAC champ, and either 12-1 Boise or 12-1 App State are out there, no need to wait.

Boise would likely get it if Navy was AAC champ. assuming Boise wins MWC champ game. App state would have to have sun moon, and stars align for them to get it.

App State with two P5 wins vs Navy that got blown out in only P5 game?

A Navy AAC champ and a Hawaii MWC Champ would send an App State SBC Champ to Texas.

Not all P5 games are the same. Navy played Notre Dame, not North and South Carolina.

Yes, that is likely what would happen.

Nah, two P5 wins is greater than zero P5 wins.

If for some reason Navy wins the AAC and Boise wins the MWC the committee will find a way to get Navy to the Cotton Bowl.

Notre Dame isn't South Carolina or North Carolina but Navy didn't stay within four touchdowns of Notre Dame. Navy's performance vs Notre Dame was more like Duke's (loser to UNC) or Boston College (loser to Kansas who lost to Sun Belt foe Coastal Carolina).

Getting slaughtered by a weak P5 team is worse. Notre Dame’s signature win is USC

App State beat two mediocre teams. Navy lost to a top 12 Notre Dame.

Boise, probably correct. But if Navy beats a top 15 or 16 11-1 Cincinnati, they could easily be ranked ahead of App State. App has no top 25 wins.

No, wins over actual top 25 teams are bigger, not beating some mediocre to bad "P5" team. Navy would have beaten a top 15, 11-1 Cincinnati at this point. WAAAAY more impressive than beating some other teams that aren't even making a bowl game.

exactly.... If P5 meant so much, why was App St so low this week?

RE: AAC title game permutations
The bottom line is that either Memphis or Cincinnati is going to the Cotton Bowl, unless either one of them loses. That's the bottom line.
If for some weird reason Navy were to win the AAC, then Boise would probably go. I personally think that Navy would be ranked ahead of App at that point, but virtue of a top 15 win over Cincinnati, however, I realize that point is debatable. Navy's two losses are also against top 25 teams (not an unranked team as in Boise and App).
