As with all programs, I figured we would have our ups ans downs, losing seasons in a row, and failed recruiting classes.
Never did I foresee us getting into the bottom five.

We have sunk lower than whalesh^t. If this was not so sad, I would have to laugh ... our program is officially a joke under BW ..... this is a low that I would have bet big we would never see. Absolutely disgusting, and that it has been allowed under BW to slip to this depth.

We have 4 passing touchdowns this year. That says it all.

Ughhhh. ESPN has us as the fourth worst team in the nation, right behind UTEP. If Akron wins a game, we could actually be in the running for THE WORST.

What the heck with wrong with you people? I heard it with my own ears from BW, we will be a championship team next year. He wasn't kidding, but I think he is hoping the Admin is drinking the kool aid with him. So, stop worrying about how bad we are this year, we are going to win the CUSA championship next year and probably be the Group 5 winner for a New Year's Day bowl. All, thanks to BW for building such a great team this year. Don't worry about any records. We are the best 1-9 team in FBS. Remember, we are so young. And gosh, the whole team has been hurt. So, the best is yet to come. Plus, he is the best recruiter in the world. I could just go on and on.... I am so giddy....

I can hear BW now.... bottom is a relative term, you have to take the long view. Granted we have barely won one game this year (come from behind snatch from FCS powerhouse NSU -- 5-6), but consider we are in a continuous rebuilding cycle with JUCOs because we can't offer anything to potential recruits beyond location, easy academics, a new stadium, supportive fans (until the Sh**show came to Ballard Stadium), first rate administration who have no expectations for performance --- and could go on and on ..... but hey we are the best 1-9 team in the country and could see the breakthrough at any point. Just give us the audition the last 2 games and even if you lose, trust us, we will be back next year with a championship caliber team.

I almost forgot ...... I was looking for a thread on the MTSU game and couldn't find one .... guess that says everything that needs to be said about excitement for the program.

I remember in the past looking at stats of the opposition. Generally Giles and I would offer observations and predictions based on team stats and individual matchups. Others would as well.

This season ODU09 started the game threads enthusiastically each week, but recently has been silent. I didn't even try to do any analysis other than "they are better than we are, and I have no idea who is even playing for us", and a predictive score. Ironically, I may have been more accurate on the final score predictions overall than at any time since we started football.
Go figure.

This season should have been no surprise.

We're the best 1-10 team in the nation! Our "National Worst Best Team" trophy will be right up there next to our invisible CAA championship trophy!

should've never left the CAA. You had a good thing going. Maybe you should admit your Admin. were wrong and come back to the CAA for football only (ala Richmond, Villanova, etc.), and come join the A10 in Basketball. It's the best hoops league around. Every game is tough.

There are some ODU fans who absolutely want to do that. Personally, I think FBS football is worth the garbage conference we are in, but we need to start aiming for more lofty goals than just remaining in CUSA, and to make that happen we need to have consistent success in football. Getting into a more east coast league (AAC) should be high up on Selig's to-do list.

However, if ODU isn't willing to commit the big bucks to be successful at FBS football then yes going the FCS-A10 route is something ODU ought to consider.

if you could get into the AAC, you should do it and replace UCONN. If not, I would look to vacate the C-USA within the next two years and do the CAA/A10 route.

I have been told we were never going to get an A10 invite by some knowledgeable posters here. Revisionist history, but I'd much rather be CAA football and A10 basketball for sure. I am in the minority.
