coachs' poll out
https://www.espn.com/college-football/ra...asontype/2

Not much change. LSU solid #1. Alabama only dropped 3 spots to #4. Penn St. dropped 6 (#11) while Minnesota moved up 6 (#7). Iowa dropped 4 to #22 while Wake Forest, Kansas St. and San Diego St. dropped out. No significant shuffling among the remainder. Texas, App. St. and Indiana filled the last 3 slots.

Actually Oregon should be ahead of both Alabama and Georgia. I get Minnesota's ranking, they have a horrible sos up to this point but if they keep winning they will be fine.

Oregon hasn't beaten a single team with less than 4 losses. Alabama does at least have A&M as well as USM. And A&M is the only team that came within 20 points of them (47-28). Oregon has been in about 4 dogfights. Georgia has wins over Florida and Notre Dame and none of their other wins were by less than 20.

Ohio St. looks good on paper as they have 3 ranked wins-Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Indiana and have beaten everyone by at least 24. But I think Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Indiana are all overrated. We'll see how those 3 finish out the season. Of course by that time, Ohio St. will have MI, PSU and the Big 10 ccg to test them.

There is a reason why A&M is the only team to come within 20 of them.

Georgia lost to SOUTH CAROLINA. That alone should disqualify them from the top 10

Which 1 loss team has done more? Not Oregon, not Alabama, not Utah, not Oklahoma, not Penn St.

Wisconsin and Indiana are overrated but you use Southern Miss in your argument for Alabama? It's getting harder and harder to have educated debates around here.

AP out. Writers don't think much of OU and Baylor, ranking both two spots lower. Other than that, identical to coaches' poll for top 21. 22&23 (Texas higher in AP and Iowa higher in coaches') are flipped. App St. 2 spots lower in writers (#26) which moves Okie St. into top 25.

Only poll that matters is CFP. What they say is what matters most.

None of those other teams Have the horrible lost to Georgia does losing to South Carolina is inexcusable if you are going to pretend to be a top 10 but alone a top-five team

RE: coachs' poll out
Alabama has only two wins over teams with winning records.

Oklahoma also has two.

Minnesota has two, but Alabama has nothing like Minnesota's win over Penn State.

Baylor has three.

Georgia has three.

Utah has four.

Oregon has five.

If the team with Alabama's resume was Vanderbilt, they might not be in the top ten.

Losing to a good team doesn't help if you don't beat any good teams. South Carolina has been very up and down. They were leading Florida until a 4th quarter collapse.

Of course Oregon's 5 are all against 5-4 or 6-4 teams.

So, it's who you've played and who they've played. It's facts and not personal opinion.

RE: coachs' poll out
And Alabama is the greatest team in the history of college football. If anybody says otherwise they are not thinking clearly. With that said, it should not make them the exception to the metrics used by the committee.
