Odds Shark has Tech favored by eight, what are your thoughts about that spread?

RE: La Tech vs Marshall
Seems high to me especially with the game at Marshall - the line will move down throughout the week

I admit I’m biased, but thought Tech would be favored by 2 or 3 pts.

High to me, we are in agreement. We've got finals this week (quarter system), it's a short week with a long trip (probably 2-stops by plane), Marshall had a bye-week to prepare, while Ruston(Tech) can get cold, we're likely not used to playing at near freezing temps, and lastly we'll likely struggle with the physicality your team brings that allowed you to beat FAU.

Should be a tough but hopefully fun game 03-wink

why would it be a 2 stop? Our teams fly into huntington, but are careful not to show that movie on the flight.

I'm just going off my experience of flying. I'd imagine we'd fly from Monroe to Atlanta, Dallas, or Houston, then from there to either Huntington or a large airport before flying to Huntington. I'd be surprised if we fly direct there, but maybe we do chartered flights. Someone more informed than me should know...

as many people as your taking your chartering. My guess is yall bus to shreveport and fly direct. Our airport extended the runway several years ago so we only have to bus about 15 miles.

My question about tech is your uab trip is a long bus or a short flight?

Most likely a direct charter from Monroe. Its what both the team and band did in 2014.

IMO, it's too high.

That said, that line may not be too high if Tech QB J'Mar Smith plays as well as he did in the last couple of games before last night (e.g., against USM). J'Mar did NOT play well last night against UNT.

The good news for Tech is, this 2019 Tech team appears to have found a lot more scoring weapons this season, which is exactly what happened last night against UNT. RB Justin Henderson, WR Isaiah Graham, RB Smoke Harris, RB Israel Tucker, RB Juwaun Johnson and everybody's favorite pick 6 artist DB L'Jarius "Need-for-Speed" Sneed, all scored TD's last night. And only Snead was a starter 5 weeks into this season.

So, even though J'Mar had an "off" night, this Tech team was able to win comfortably over UNT because of the support he had around him. That said, to beat Marshall in Huntington, I think J'Mar has got to step up and have a great game like he did against USM. And we all know those are not every day occurrences.

It’s funny preseason all heard was Tech’s defense will take a step back. Someone mention losing Jaylon Ferguson and everyone ran with it, even sportswriters. Of course they know as much as ill-informed message board posters.

Odds Shark is way off. Marshall opens as -3 according to Vegas insider

Not sure where that’s coming from, every other site has Marshall by 2.5 - 3

So basically a pick'em game on a neutral field. That sounds about right. I agree with those that said ultimately it will fall to La Tech - 2

Your stats look good, especially the #3 in scoring defense and #1 scoring offense.

Marshall and La Tech have division leads to try and hang onto. Should be a slugfest. The other 3 games will be way less intriguing.

Imma go Tech by 17 if J'Mar has a good game. 9 if he doesn't. Defense will prove the difference this time. I believe our WTF game will be against UAB or UTSA.
