Looks like almost all of our money will go towards online programs, while CNU will use theirs to build a cybersecurity lab and hire faculty.

What would you suggest ODU do, when we already have an established lab and faculty?

Just posting the facts. Didnt say it was good or bad. Though in general I think ODU should do more to improve their on campus experience. Perhaps hire more, or even better faculty (the deal states we have to graduate over 700 more in the field), give the facilities a facelift or expand them, market the programs better or offer financial aid.

But why is them building a lab relevant when we opened ours in 2013? When they need to just start a program, ours has been landing grants and graduating professionals for a while.

Additionally, I don't know why but it seems like you are incapable of reacting to an ODU academic or campus story without being negative. It's one of the most predictable things on here.

Perhaps. I just found it interesting that one place chose to add infrastructure while the other is adding online programs. Frankly, I don't know why CNU should add such a similar program 20 something miles away, but that's Virginia. Admittedly, I think there a many things ODU could do much better for an improved campus environment and improved academic reputation and student experience. I was pretty happy when we moved up in the USNWR rankings 2 years ago. Happy with the addition of football, glad they built the new dorms, even if they aren't the most attractive. Maybe its because I work in higher ed and see how other places do things better or have nicer things and I just want the same for ODU. I imagine these things mean more to me than the average Joe because its the industry Im in. So if I seem negative occasionally, its only because I care.

It's not that interesting. They need the infastructure, ODU already has it. And sure there are things ODU could improve on, but there's also a lot of things ODU is doing a great job at. And I understand criticism when it's necessary but it comes off as disingenuous when it's almost everything ODU is doing unrelated to athletics.

I worked with some of their cyber security grads at a STEM camp I helped run this year at NSU. Sharp kids.

If they can't avenge all of our real-life sports rivalries in the video game world, then clearly we fire everyone and make CompSci design a gaming AI

RE: ODU Master Plan
Looking at ODUs capital requests for the next 3 years (using the search at the following link), ODU has some big things in mind.

A new $21 million police station on the east side of Hampton Blvd. The request includes money for land acquisition. I wonder what lot they plan on buying?

A new $128 million biology building, which also mentions they will renovate Mills-Godwin for a new use.

Also included are stormwater improvements and the already mentioned health sciences building.
