Boggs with 3 dunks off of offensive rebounds. Toews looks good, the rest of the team not so good. Haven’t seen much at this point to make me feel overly optimistic about this season. JWU is terrible.

J and W scored 64 against Presbyterian, they've scored 41 against us at the half.

54-41 at the half. JWU with four straight 3s at the end of the half. Giving up 41 points to a bunch of non-scholarship players is not a good sign. Hawks are way more athletic and should be up by at least 20 or more at this point.

Can someone explain to a knucklehead like me why the powers to be decided flosports was a better option than CAA.TV, ESPN+ or CBS? I considered buying the package for about 5 seconds and then decided against it. I understand CAA.TV is free, but surely they made money from advertising. To pay $30.00 a month for 5 months or $150.00 a year is ridiculous to watch one team's games for a season. Isn't ESPN+ like $5 a month? I could be wrong, but pretty sure it use to be. By the way on the 6.2% Columbia Craft IPA's here in Columbia, SC tonight. Taking it easy for a Tuesday, but Friday I'll be lining the beer cans up at my feet in Trask.

As he was leaving the floor at the half, McGrath talked about needing to improve defense/ball screens in 2nd half. SO it seems he is focused on D. But if J&W manages to score 80+ that would not be a good harbinger.

Here's my take after the 1st half.

They are small and we are able to drive at will from any position with no resistance or shot blockers. We either score on the layup or get the open shot on the kick out. We are only outrebounding them 22-19. 30 of our 54 points are on the paint, I just don't see that happening in CAA play.

We still don't get steals and don't block shots. This is a team we should absolutely destroy...and we aren't. We will probably have a closer game than Presbyterian....Not seeing anything that makes me think we have dominant team that will impose its' will on opponents.

CAA was paid 7 figures to put virtually are their games on Flo. The broadcasts are the same that you would see on CAA.TV. They then used that Flo money to buy a package on CBSSN to get some games on national TV.

The consensus around here seems to be ESPN+ would have been a better

Flo was the only one willing to pay the CAA to show games. The CAA as a whole is going to use the income to buy more nationally televised games. They can still sell advertising time to generate additional revenue. They also like the fact Flo is going to promote the conference and individual schools on their platform.
