I know a couple of times last I tried to find a N Texas game I was interested in checking out that was on STADIUM and I finally just gave up.

Its also making the CUSA/SBC realignment dream more difficult.

First it was the 10 team money split in the SBC vs. 14 team split in CUSA. Then for the past few years SBC is decidedly better top to bottom in FB. Now the TV deal is also a step up over CUSA.

A split CUSA is facing the prospect of splitting and expanding without SBC call ups this time around. This is why I predict the replacement for UAB if they were to leave for the AAC might have to be NMSU at this point due to the advancement of the SBC.

Nobody is seriously thinking in a C-USA/Sun Belt realignment.

The last thing C-USA Sun Belt needs is mediocre Sun Belt C-USA teams joining a mediocre conference to make it more mediocre especially in basketball.

Thanks but no thanks.

As for the tv deal, at least the SBC has it better than the MAC with its weeknight games.
Fixed it for you

I’m totally fine with that fix. Both conferences are the poster child of mediocrity including one of the schools I root for. But if UTEP is going to be stuck in a Southern based cluster mess (and I’m being nice calling it that because I don’t want to get banned or get a warning), the last thing we need is more mediocrity especially in basketball.

Never thought we'd be home dogs against a ranked Sun Belt team but here we are. Life happens fast.

It should be a fun game under the lights.

Yes, it’s been annoying. I had to purchase a screen mirror app on the App Store just to watch two MTSU Facebook games this year. The Facebook app on Roku wasn’t being cooperative.

A lot of us on the CUSA board feel our AD doesn’t even try to shop around for a deal. At the rate we are doing she’ll probably sign a contract for someone to film the game on their smartphone and post it online the next day

So far this year ESPN, or more accurately ESPNU has picked up the following additional games beyond the guaranteed number of games.
Mississippi State at Louisiana
Memphis at South Alabama
Memphis at ULM
Appalachian State at South Alabama
AState at ULM

All Saturday pickups in addition to the usual weeknight games ESPN offers the Sun Belt and all but the first taken under the 12 day notice provision after the start of the season.

Nice to see a couple ULM home games on national tv, as well as USA in Ladd-Peebles’ farewell season.

CUSA fans laughed at me when I said no deal was better than the deal they were going to sign. It was just a final attempt to say "we get paid more than the Sunbelt therefore we are superior".

But now I literally spend my entire Saturday every Saturday watching football. And the only CUSA team I have seen play this year was UNT getting demolished by SMU.

You guys would have been better off just having no deal and creating a school run live-stream and call it an internship for broadcast majors. If any CUSA team was good enough to be on TV ESPN always finds room for top 25 teams.

Then you have no Thursday games. No late night start games.

Yeah, I have a Roku too. For the UH-N Texas game I had to go old school with a lap top attached to the TV with a HDMI cable. It was a pain, but the result was fine. Good picture. Solid broadcast. No issues with the stream. CUSA needs an app with all the major streaming devices that makes it easy to access all their different broadcast partners.

It also helps that the mediocre ACC games that would be on ESPNU are now in the ACC Network.

We're getting **** for money anyway, just give ESPN everything and take what they give us. Other than the NFL Network deal it's crap across the board. Our marquee games and title games are on CBS Sports which with most cable/dish plans is an add on. A couple FB/MBB games on ESPNU/ESPN2 a year and everything else on 3 or + would be preferable in my opinion. Even if they lowball us we're talking what? tens of thousands a year per school difference? That's chicken feed.

RE: Sun Belt has to be enjoying new TV deal
It's weird. When the SBC announced the ESPN+ deal it was laughed at on this board. Now admittedly, the Belt was the first conference to sign on to ESPN+, so I can understand some skeptical reactions. But now there are peer conferences wanting the deal and P5 conferences are putting games on it.

A half dozen Thursday games have been worth it for the ESPN push that App has gotten this year, which would probably be happening for any SBC team that had the same results.

ESPN in the Sun Belt corner is going to be big moving forward
