On the coaches' show Monday, Candle said it was too early to know if he would play this week.

Could be pulling a "Bowling Green" by not making an announcement about the QB before the game so that Ball State needs to prepare for a few different looks. Regardless of who the QB is, I'd like to see us really make an effort to run the ball. Go with 2 TEs, use Gilliam even more as a blocking back, run some plays with both Koback & Seymour in the backfield together (please tell me that we do have at least a couple plays in that set-up).

The grapevine often, and for good reason, gets a bad rap...however, in this case sounds like that is the case

Even so... Gutsy kid. Hope he excells in life. He led us to 3 good wins this year.

Tough to think this isn't true with the pounding he has taken. OL and their ability to pass protect really needs to be addressed. Unfortunately, I think this does us in for 2019. I have not seen anything from our OL to show that we can consistently pass protect a QB who is not very mobile. If we were more consistent on the ground I might be more confident but the running game has a tendency to go MIA for long stretches where MG's mobility bailed us out.

Mitch looked concussed as he walked to the locker room after taking a big hit. Aren't you allowed only so many concussions in your career before you have to call it quits? This would be his 3rd or 4th concussion?
Bradley took a big hit on a sack and came off the field with his helmet off. Not sure the extent of that injury, maybe he was just sick of the piss poor offensive line play.
