There's no way we win this by 20. Our young corners are gonna get burned a few times this game.

Im guessing Vegas will set this one around App -17.5 with O/U 65ish. Im worried about our lane integrity on the defensive side of the ball more than ever in this game. May need an Evans performance of 275+ in the air with another 100 with his legs. Anyways excited to see where we stand and if we can keep this one interesting late.

Yeah I saw the guys postings on Yosef’s Cabin saying that we are basically a JV team and App will basically wipe the field with us. I know most every winning teams fan base have those fans. I do think we have 3 of the best skill players in the conference and Lamm, the TE opposite Pederson, showed up last night. Evans, Johnson, and Pederson are legit and could play for anyone in the country. App has those type players too. I really like your QB. He’s a talent.

Any App fan that doesn't respect the offense Monroe will bring to Boone needs to go back and watch the 2017 highlights. That was one of the few times a G5 offense just flat out embarrassed our defense. We'll need our best effort to stop Evans and Johnson next week.

Everyone thought Wednesday was a preview of the CC game, but this game could be as well.

ULM is one of those teams that can run really hot or cold and be a little unpredictable. No doubt they have a very good offense and can really score some points if they avoid turnovers. Evans made some great throws last night against TxSt and is the type of mobile QB that sometimes give App (and about everyone else) fits. Johnson looks like a beast in the backfield too. They will come into Boone pretty confident at 2-0 in the Belt and I expect a tough football game. I do believe App has the better defense and more depth but ULM could certainly put up some points and if it becomes a track meet it could be scary. I'm glad this one is at home where App is tough to beat.

The thing with the Wr Corps is we dont have a WR you are afraid of. Ive said this all along this year. Theres no Marcus Green type on this roster. I do think Kubic does a nice job of incorporating the short passing game into the offense. But lets face it we dont hit on the big plays in the passing game. Its methodical drives. Now i really do like our upfront play from the O-Line. They do a nice job of creating movement at the point of contact. Our running game has been excellent. Look for the 10 play drives to keep ULM in this game and APP ST offense on the sideline. Atleast thats the hope.

The things that have hurt us all year long is slants/short middle passes. They've been wide open most times.

How overall has turnovers been for ULM? Though ULL had a ton of fumbles coming in and had none on the ground against us.

ULM is top 1/3 in country in turnover margin at +3. I see App is tied for 10th at +5. May need to help me out here guys but i believe all of Calebs picks have been on "shots". Not to beat a dead horse but not our forte. Seems both take care of the ball and force some defensively.

Corey Straughter is tied for 2d in the nation with 4 INTs. Should have had 2 last night instead of the 1 to seal the win. He also had at least two pass breakups as well. This really has been a break out year so far for him. As far as our passing goes, I agree there isn't that one receiver who is a threat but we have 2 TEs that are huge match up problems. Both Lamm and Pederson go 6'5" and have nice hands. I wouldn't be surprised to see some tweaking to get them both on the field at the same time with Pederson moved to the slot and Lamm in the traditional role. If Evans is on, he can be the best in the conference. If he isn't, you scratch your head and wonder how he even got a scholarship. Johnson is the real deal at RB. OL has been moved around to cover for the loss of Fiailola. Good thing is that we usually rotated linemen in and out so back ups got some experience. Gonna need our A game (plus a little) for this game, I am sure. At least we get some time to rest.

This is gonna be a hell of a game in my opinion. I really believe the terrible 2nd half by ULM last night is that their legs were shot from the short week. We have some serious skill position players and OL. We are a very balanced offense and I think can give App all they can handle. Both being 2-0 adds a lot of intrigue to this game. App definitely has the better defense, but I think ULM has the better offense. Going to be an interesting matchup and hopefully a prelude to the CC game in Monroe. ?

Y’all have mentioned the ULM defense in a bad light. Is it improving? Or was last night more TXST being a lesser opponent?

RE: Warchickens at Hillbillies (ULM @ App) HOMECOMING THREAD 10/19 3:30 PM ESPN+
APP should win this one by 2 tds, I think ULM ranks near the very bottom in the FBC in rushing yds allowed, Evans should have a field day, and the offense should put up atleast 35. Having said this, the ULM qb is the most physically gifted qb in the conference, he can make throws most others can’t so as a secondary, you can’t relax, the minute you do, he will make an unbelievable throw, the JUCO back is also very good. Bottom line is, I think ULM will move the ball enough to make the APP faithful very uncomfortable into the 3rd, but the talent difference between the two is too much for ULM to overcome and APP gradually pulls away to win comfortably.

Our D has looked much better in conference games than the P5 and Memphis games. So who knows?

Hey, it’s why we play the games. One more thing, Drink admitted after the ULL game he was way too conservative with his play calling in the second half, look for APP to be extremely aggressive against ULM, he wants to make amends for the ULL game, and it’s homecoming in front of a sellout crowd, he is going to want to entertain them, 2 yds and a cloud of dust won’t do it.

It seems like every time ULM fans have hope that the team will do something great, it immediately blows up completely. It already happened this year with the Iowa State game. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get blown out in Boone next weekend after starting out 2-0 in conference play.

That’s true too. We definitely can be Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball.

True, who knows what the final score and yards will be. I mean 17-7 (really 10-7 for a long time) between UL and App State!? No one saw that coming!

All I heard was best O Line this, best running back that, and how good Thomas and his receivers are. Well...it was a punt fest. Hell there was more scoring in the Cardinals Braves game.

Speaking of punting, holy crap your punter made it very hard on us. Big time! That guy should be Defensive player of the week :)
