RE: KSU Women’s Golf 2019
Just a reminder that the Herb Page era with all its stability is now over. Wouldn’t surprise me if both programs start to show some decline. Let’s face it Golf Channei will probably change college golf the same way ESPN changed football and basketball.

RE: KSU Women’s Golf 2019
I think Page bringing in Mills on the men's side was to make sure that there would be continuity in the program after he left. He had been trying to get Mills for a few years before he retired from the pros, so Page must feel Mills is the right coach to keep the program strong.
There is also that Kent has world-class facilities for golf thanks to Ben Curtis and that Kent is a very strong university, which should also help attracting students/athletes.

All that is true but the big Conferences always get a lot more interested when they get TV coverage and Golf Channel is doing that for them. It’s a lot warmer in Arizona and Alabama.

That’s actually a very good point, kids that play warm weather sports (like baseball or golf) that want to go south works to our advantage when we recruit Canadian kids well and don’t need to go to the Deep South when we have a solid program and a nice facility to practice.

Any one hear of any front runners to take over for Robertson? I saw where he recommended Maddie Swaney to replace him and take over. This is a tough 1 to predict as Nielsen is the closest to this team since all 3 of his daughters have played for KSU and 1 will be a junior next year.

I would be very careful taking a previous coach's recommendation, unless the previous coach is Herb Page.

Maddie Swaney was just named Robertson's assistant at Oklahoma State.

RE: KSU Women’s Golf 2019
I met the new coaches last night for a few minutes. Their enthusiasm is very contagious and they will win recruiting battles just based off their personalities. I'm excited to see why they take this team!!

The KSU women are not letting up on the pedal. Second straight win is in sight at the Mercedes-Benz tournament in TN. Good luck tomorrow. And individually, #1 & #2 heading into the final round.

Looks like a two team race between Kent and Charlotte. The team seems to be having fun with their updates on the team instagram account.

Flashes win another tournament making this coaching staff 2-0 on the season.

Just checked golfweek.com & they have the Flashes ranked #2.
ncaa.com has them ranked #5.
Very impressive.

After the first two rounds, the Golden Flashes are in a familiar position.
BTW, if it is any consolation, we are doing to the Wisconsin golf team what the football team did to us. :)

Won 3rd straight yesterday by a stroke.
Would absolutely hate to think this but Nielsen's daughter was the 5th golfer while someone else played as an individual played considerably better than Nielsen's daughter.

In fairness to Korey Nielsen, she played really good golf in the first 2 tournaments, fourth on the team both times and ahead of Pakdeesettakul in the first tournament of the year. Clearly, Stormo, McGinty and Panthong are an awesome 1-2-3 punch with Nielsen, Salort (who had a great tournament) and Pakdeesettakul all excellent college golfers. This team is a legit national title contender.
