As I rapidly lose interest in ODU football until they fire BW. Im turning to men's basketball.

Anyone have any insight into the current state of the team:

Are we dealing with any summer injuries?
What is the status of AJ Olivers transfer?
Projected starting lineup?

We are less than a month away from the first game on the road against Northern Iowa on November 5.

To answer OP though real quick:

1) No new injuries but Karaiskos is still recovering from knee surgery last year. Don't know if he'll be cleared by the start of the season but it'll take him time to get back into game shape in any case.

2) Still pending. NCAA really taking their time on this one.

3) There's a lot of debate but if you ask me the starting lineup at the beginning of the year will look like:

1. Curry
2. Godwin
3. Green
4. Carver
5. Dickens
   

Now, onto the other thread!

Not at all surprised to hear him say that. I have been expressing those same concerns here on the boards since the beginning of the summer.

I think JJ has a bunch of interchangeable pieces making us a versatile team. I think the beginning of the season will be interesting. Early on our opponent will have a tough time figuring us out because we will still be figuring out our-self. I am expecting to have at least 4-5 guys going out and getting AT LEAST 10+. And i'm expecting "that guy" or the leading scorer to potentially vary from night to night. Cant wait .

Godwin
Oliver
Green
Curry
Hunter
Wade
Reece
Carver

Thats the top 10, obviously.

We can throw out Carver, he's never leading the team in scoring.

So it comes down to Curry, Hunter, Wade, Reece, Dickens.......2 of those have to lead the team in scoring for a game. Possible....I would bet against it.

Give me one of our three PGs and Dickens.

With Kalu and Dickens, I think our front court can be good. Its just not deep, and we don't have a giant banger to beat the crap out of Bassey. I still think Kalu will be a superstar for the Monarchs before he's done.
