I live in Athens. I'm not going to make the game (health), but might be able to answer questions.
Back in my NIU Wrestling days we made the trip to Athens for the MAC championships. The area is beautiful. Cool downtown area nestled in the rolling hills of southeast Ohio. If you have the time and means, take the trip.
Looks like the Lunatic Asylum only gives tours once a month, the Koons spirit room with seances on Mt Nebo no longer exists, and there's probably no way to get to Wilson Hall Room 428 without knowing a student.
Athens is a haven for spiritualists but the hot spots aren't really accessible.

The "Lunatic Asylum" aka The Ridges, has a wonderful history. My wife works with mental health through the state of Ohio and she has been there a few times. Tours are hard to come by, but you can drive up through there any time.
I have no information on anything spiritual. Looks like you're into that? Plenty of "hippies" here, maybe ask them if you come across one, lol.
Little Fish, Jakie O's, Eclipse and Devil's Kettle are good stops if you're a drinker?

Enjoy the trip to Athens, Ohio!
Ohio University is America's #1 most haunted campus and Athens is a top-10 haunted city. They have boarded up Room 428 in Wilson Hall due to paranormal activity.
I knew of room 428, but had no idea how haunted the whole area is. Thanks for the info!
Salmon? Not a real fan, but I have heard Stephen's on court street has great food. I have had the Sesame Tuna appetizer there and it was great! When I'm not in horrible pain my wife and I will do a pub crawl down court street. Tons of bars and bar food with a couple nicer joints like Stephen's.
Broneys and Courtside Pizza are at the end of Court st. I recommend these two joints if you have time. Courtside has some of the best pizza I have ever eaten and they are crazy cheap on prices.
Broneys is pretty cool too, it's where Frank Solich does radio shows. Great burgers and fries and other bar foods.
