Exclamation Game Week/Day: Homecoming (BSU)
Deflating loss before homecoming, but that was yesterday, and this is a new week.

Hope the guys have a good week of practice and ready for a big game Saturday.

Two games in a row (CCSU and CMU) our opponent got the ball to start the game and scored.

If we have the choice, I want the ball to start the game.

RE: Game Week: Homecoming (BSU)
Ball State is better than their 2-3 record. Just beat NIU after being down by 14. Lost to Indiana 34-24, and NC State 34-23.

Ran the ball 60 TIMES for 235 yards against NIU. QB was only 4/14 for 34 yds, 1 Int.

I guess this week is for Russ. We'll find out if toughness and fight matter, as BSU likely tries to run the ball early and often. On defense they gave up 147 yards rushing to NIU. Will our OLine finally step up and win the offensive line of scrimmage?

Simply relying on Glass' arm to carry this team isn't going to get it done. He is a true dual threat, and needs to run 5-10 times a game to really get the offense going and keep the defense off balance. Other teams have now seen what he can and can't do, time for Keen to earn his $$. No need to 'save' our Senior QB from injury at this point. Not trying to overstate things, but season is really on the line with this game.

Let's get this thing turned around boys!

Weather looking cold (53) and rainy so far. Hopefully it changes as we get closer.

I agree. If the weather is near that, then we will need to get creative. GET JAIRUS THE BALL. If it's RPO, bubble screeen, hand off, etc. that guy needs to touch the ball. We lost to CMU on explosive plays and this guy is the explosive play difference for EMU. I think the most important thing is getting positive first down yardage which will help long sustained drives and a commitment to the running game.

I agree that it might sound a bit much, but this game is HUGE in terms of righting the ship after 2 sloppy games. Go Eagles. Get it!

Agree. It's all about the 1st down yardage.

RE: Game Week: Homecoming (BSU)
this game is the season. we lose homecoming against ball state i dont see how we even compete with wmu or toledo. that would put us on a 4 game losing streak (should be 5)

i want to see the depth chart. i want to see benchings after the last two games.

This game will decide if we go to a bowl game realistically! Have to find away to not be one dimensional offensively! We need to find ways to put pressure on their QB! Ball St has a really good RB, and after last week that's a real concern! W Mich and Toledo the following 2 weeks is definitely not going to be easy! Lets win on HC!

They are really always open. When we had to pay for parking, I used to get there before the attendants. Never have I seen it gated off, it never should be. If people are coming early they should embrace it.

Yup. I have never had an issue getting there too early.

I'll be there. Mostly will be tailgating in the parking lot, but if it get's too wet I will probably mosey over to the alumni tent.

Alumni tent was actually a pretty good time and value last year. Once you pay to enter you get free food, free beer, and heat/dryness.

Thanks, Mr. Pedantic. You must be great at parties.

Everyone understood what I meant. After the entrance fee you are not charged again for food. I chose to express that using fewer words. Now I'll excuse you while you go correct grammar in other conversations not involving you.

I will be there as usual and actually I think it is a fabulous idea for us all to get together. I got to meet Ken Barna when Dan McLean allowed me into the President's Perch last year and he is as impressive in person as his posts are. A really great guy!

I tailgate with my college buddies at the west end of the parking lot, most likely for Homecoming we will be across from Oestrike. My friends all read this blog. Alum93, also known as Jeff Murphy joined us for the last game and I invited Mike1999 for homecoming as well, nice fellows for sure. I have never done the Alumni tent thing but please stop by and say HI is you have time.

I'm not Sonny Eliot but Saturday's forecast is a little better. Sounds like a rainy morning and clearing in the afternoon.
