No more P6
I think with UCF’s loss to Cincinnati tonight puts and end to this whole make believe P6 bullsh*t that they started.

You would have to explain that a little better. UC and UCF are both in the AAC ( P6). It was not like UCF lost to a team in another conference.

RE: No more P6
This is correct but with UCF (the one school pushing the P6) losing a second time for the season puts and end to their P6 narrative. Back to business as usual for the AAC. Now I would give Cincinnati a ton of credit if they had beaten OSU (laughing) to carry on that torch but as of now it ends in my mind.

UC is a very good team.
Still, I agree, AAC is no Power6 this year.
I think the MWC is better this year top to bottom.

More like M(iddle) 2, with the MWC.
Sadly we may be B(ottom) 3, with CUSA and FunBelt.

It all goes in cycles.
What will we be saying when Temple wins the AAC and then Buffalo who beat them finishes 2nd behind Miami in the MAC East? :)

RE: No more P6
It was losing to Pitt (not FL-State or VA-Tech in one of their decent years) -- and then also to Cinci, who didn't stand out as an upper-third P5 to challenge Ohio State for a quarter.
But one can't expect the G5 teams to be Upper-dominant year-in-year-out. You can only expect them to be pretty good every year, and have their moments.

I would have to say UC is an upper 1/3rd to upper 1/2 level “P5 like“ talent type of team almost every year.
They have been for quite a while.
They will be ranked this week after the UCF win.
The AAC top to bottom is not P5 and they need to do away with sticking some of those plugs in their TV adds.
Everyone looks bad versus Ohio State - even MICH ST last night.
However, MICH ST’s D found a way to limit the Buckeyes to only 7 points in the 2nd half. It was still over not close.
Top 5-10% of college football is light years ahead of everyone else.
They are truly the “P5.”

Very good post, as someone on our board commented a few weeks ago, schools like Bama, OSU and a few others are the Globetrotters, the rest of us are the Washington Generals.

Conferences should be gauged by all the teams. But I agree - why is this thread on the MAC board?

RE: No more P6
Can your middle team go .500 in any P5 league... That shows where you belong.
So does Tulsa, Ball State, Air Force, WKU, and Troy go .500 in the Big10? Are any of those teams giving P5 MIDDLERS like Nebraska, Colorado, UNC, ISU, or Miss State a game week in and week out? No. The MWC is close, but I think with an 8 game league tilt their middle teams lose more than win.
Talk about depth though: Fresno, Hawaii, USU, Boise State, and SDSU is one heck of a top 5.
A tourney of those teams vs. UCF, UC, Memphis, SMU and Navy would be awesome.

The AAC has won every single game against the G5, save one, this season. I think they’ve demonstrated that they are a cut above the rest.

The AAC has 3 teams in the AP top 25 with a total of 5 recieving votes
2 teams in the coaches top 25 with a total of 7 recieving votes. The mwc has Boise so far. The AAC and the mwc conferences are not equals. By the way I have great respect for the MAC and I think you guys play some good hard nosed football and if you guys played a conference challenge against the mwc, I'd bet my money on you all everytime.

While I don't agree with the whole P6 thing, this thread is ridiculous. They are as strong as ever right now.

Temple has a MAC problem.
UC vs. Miami is the only win against us...
I'd say that's not overwhelming evidence
