It Temple hadn't blown that game to Buffalo, the Owls would be clawing for a top 25 spot right now too. I'd like to see the American get, and keep, three teams in the top 25. I'd really prefer for UC to be one of them. If not, it's good for the Bearcats to have shots at ranked opponents later this season.

The beautiful thing is our other conference mates are making up some slack with a down Houston and rebuilding Navy this year - SMU & Tulane along with Memphis, UCF and Natti - not too shabby!

Well said. And it's going to be necessary to maintain the AAC-P6 narrative as something more than just an advertising slogan. Three ranked certainly helps when only one team from the rest of the G5 is ranked.

Temple, to me, is always the most difficult team to gauge. They always have the same brand of team every year - physical, tough defense, etc. But they consistently have more WTF games than anyone else in our conference. A 16 point loss to Buffalo (who has lost to both Miami OH and Liberty by multiple TDs). Last year they lost to Buffalo and Villanova. Two years ago they lost to a 3 Win UConn team. I have no doubt they will be right in the thick of the AAC race, though.

Temple's record is not impressive!

Beat a lousy MD by 3, a horrible GT, a bad ECU and got whipped by a Buffalo thank Miami beat.

RE: Week 6 Football Games
Can we take a second to talk about Holton Ahlers? According to the ECU guys, he was supposed to be their savior, and a potential Heisman candidate by the end of his time in college.

In his second season as a starting QB, he currently has this stat-line against FBS competition (in games against Temple, NC State, Navy, and Old Dominion)

60/121 (59%) for 737 yards (6.1 y/a) with 5 TDs and 4 INTs
37 rushes for 74 yards (2 yards per carry) with 1 TD and 4 lost fumbles

I've detected that when talking football, the ECU people are a bit biased and tend to exaggerate when it comes to their team.

Watching some of the game last night, Ahlers had some funky arm delivery motions at times. He is a lefty so that may make it appear worse than it is. ECU fans should focus on him playing at a top conference QB level first before handing him the Heisman.

I'd say they should focus on him being an average QB first. In his career (10 games) he's under 50% completion.

Leave it to Iowa to come out and roll over, allowing Michigan to think they're legit.

A few top 25 teams should lose today, which opens up more slots for UC to move into the top 25. Will be rooting for some upsets.

The jury was out on IA for me. They beat ISU which was ranked previously but ISU needed double overtime to beat NIU so who knows how good they are. After watching MI for a couple of weeks i think they are probably top 25-35 range (imo, once you get to that range the margins differentiating teams are very thin). Watching this game it looks like IA might be in that same range so i'm not entirely sure that IA is really rolling over. i have the game on background so i'm not paying close attention to it but it looks pretty even and neither look great.
