"...Finally, Ms. Thunberg tells us that if we don’t cut off fossil fuels by 2028, the young generation will never forgive us. This, however, is reflective of a blinkered first-world view. When the United Nations asked 10 million people around the world what they prioritize, they highlighted five issues: health, education, jobs, corruption and nutrition. In sum, they care about their kids not dying from easily curable diseases, getting a decent education, not starving to death.
Climate came last of 16 choices. That’s not because it is unimportant, but because for most of humanity, other issues are much more pressing.
The problem is that climate is increasingly trumping all other issues. A third of all development aid, for instance, is now spent addressing climate, in direct defiance of the priorities of the world’s poor.
While we should address climate through higher investments in green-energy R&D, it seems truer to say that most of the world’s young will never forgive us if we prioritized climate above our duty to tackle poverty, health, education and nutrition."
A very solid assessment Bullet. But to tie it all together think about these seemingly disparate things: The chief purveyors of the global personal and national debts are the super wealthy, who coincidentally are among the largest purchasers, through the central banks they back, of precious metals. They also are quietly supportive of the fossil fuel agenda while heavily invested in public transportation, rails, and alternative energy sources. They are also heavily behind the pro abortion movement, while at the same time being the foremost among those concerned with global population control.
It is therefore wholly reasonable with their investments and political views to support the push for the environment while simultaneously caring very little about the poor masses and their immediate needs.
It has long been the agenda of the intellectual elites to massively thin the heard. Hitler took care of 7 million, Stalin took care of another 32, and Mao holds the mass murder high total at an estimated 61 million. None of those 3 had modern means.
The so called globalists would love to do away with the nation state and implement corporate fiat for law. They could abort as many as possible, and since they are also heavily invested in insurance companies (including health insurance) and would love to get health care costs off the backs of their corporations push a single payer high cost program on the middle class and poor so they could passively withhold treatments at certain ages to genocide the elderly. Then with their absolute control over hiring and firing people around the globe they could manipulate into starvation any or all who disagreed with their pogroms. Oh and by the way they now through corporate interests own a vast majority of farmland internationally.
Their view of a great planet is to clean it up by eliminating people which are the chief cause of most forms of pollution, and controlling the population for their own ends. Democracy, nation states, and the threat of war is the only thing preventing this. Their only means of defense currently is to buy off a threat.
Like the Nazi's and top communist party members, and all elitists before them, their vision of a better humanity and a better world is much much more exclusive. It is also why through their families and corporations they have bought so many of the world's water rights.
If they ever gain that control their numbers in the resultant genocides passively executed through the withholding of medical treatment, the withholding of jobs, the constriction on the food and water supply will make the murders committed by Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and the Kamar Rouge look paltry by comparison.
So they aren't being illogical, they aren't contradicting themselves, and they aren't just missing the point with regard to the needs of the common poor person. But they are reading he situation quite accurately and are quite coldly preparing to advance their agenda on those weaknesses and if possible to lay the blame at the feet of the failed nation state and UN models so that "Corporate Multinationals" can step in as the voice of reason and when power is assumed, coldly finish their agenda. They back the alt left and push gridlock and party partisanship because it serves their agenda to erode the people's faith in government. And nobody on this board should forget that, left or right in orientation.
