Agree completely.
An incredible performance given the OLine's and running game.
He is a one man wrecking crew.

Are you still angry with Rod Carey, or do you now acknowledge that given NIU's financial commitment to football, that we were lucky that he was not taken by a P5 school earlier?

Do you think that Thomas Hammock will have a better record then Rod Carey after 6 years, if he is still at NIU?

Ah, so the ILSt troll is back! Mods??

If you had read all my posts and remember what that crazy obnoxious one sided Illinois fan use to say, then you would have not have jumped to such an impulsive conclusion Dogfan!

Congratulations for not being bawdy on this post.

You are an incredible NIU fb fan who has before been to quick to judge.

Wrong Dogfan!

I am an NIU fan for many years.

How about testing me with questions?

Wrong! You are NOT an NIU fan. We’ll come up with some questions for you on Bloomington, Hancock Stadium, and the joys of FCS.

Never been to Bloomfield stadium, NIU has not played FB there the last 30 years or so. Illinois State normally comes to us. Is Hancock stadium their home?, I am much too uninterested to look it up.
I do not disrespect their FB team, however I think that the Illinois State fan might have been far more obnoxious than NIUalumn who atleast often made sense!

I was not a fan of NIU FB when we were div 1aa.

Neither Have I ever met an eloquent graduate from Illinois State.
Am not saying that such a creature or creatures do not exist, I have never met anyone with an Illinois State undergraduates degree whom I ever regarded as eloquent or whom might have missed his calling at NIU.

Those people who goto Illinois State either could not get into NIU or chose the ,"wrong" school.

Hammock's NIU record will not be better than Carey's NIU record after 6 years, if he is still at NIU.
Odds are Hammock's record at NIU will not be better than Carey's record at Temple either.

We’re not actually upset about yesterday, right? Nebraska was motivated and has a legit offense. NIU was without arguably their 3 best defenders for most of the game. These games will happens against P5 teams sometimes.

True, but the way they lost is what has many of us concerned. The team looked flat and unprepared. The new coaching staff and scheme will take some time to adjust to. I expect them to get better, but I also said that after the Utah game, and they laid an egg this time. Now for the record I’m not a Rod Carey fan, but just imagine if he was on the sideline as head coach making those decisions. This entire board would be in a frenzy.

This has not happened against a P5 or any other FB team within the last ten years in a regular season game.( The Bowl game against Boise State many years ago was the only worse scoreline which I recall.)
Not even against regular season losses against many ranked P5 teams either.

Truthfully a loss is still a loss and the season is young.
If coach Hammock improves and restores the MAC domination which we are use to this will be forgiven.

After being spoilt with so much success on the football field for over a decade , this magnitude of defeat was a great suprise.

NIU can still have a successful football season.

We did lose to Arkansas by quite a bit. And Wisconsin when we played at Soldier Field.

I'm still disturbed by the lack of a run game and lack of pass rush. Even if it's Nebraska - their QB could have knitted a sweater while waiting in the pocket.

Really hope we get those players back for the upcoming games, or this could get ugly.

I am actually pretty optimistic that Hammock will have a better record than Carey. I have a feeling hammocks recruiting will be pretty impressive. And, yes we will continue to beat up the Akron’s of the conference like Carey did

I only saw parts of the second half. Our guys looked tired and really got pushed around. It was disheartening but throw that one in the trash can and move on. The bye week could not be better timed for this group. I still think they have as good a chance to win the MAC as anyone this year.

Disappointing somewhat embarrassing etc etc fill in your own emotions on how you felt last night but I’m convinced this team will bounce back. Like someone said the bye week couldn’t have come at a better time. Regroup and mentally act like the seasons starts over with the Vandy game and if we can’t bounce back with a better performance ( not necessarily a win) then it could be a long year but I’m still optimistic.

Why are we only including the regular season? They just got their teeth kicked in by UAB 4 games ago. It happens.

Nebraska has a good QB, a good running back, and were motivated after losing to Colorado and NIU two years ago. NIU played the majority of the game without Foster, Williams, and Pugh (and LeRoy). It’s going to be tough to beat any P5 team that short handed.

I think there were certainly some growing pains from the coaching staff, but you would expect that. They moved the ball better than they have in a lot of their games vs the P5 the last few years. I didn’t see much to be overly concerned about.

Also, they lost 33-7 against Iowa last year. They’re a MAC team. They’re gonna get it handed to them by bigger programs on occasion. Maybe this will help everyone appreciate Carey a little more.

We have the 2 best teams in the East on the road, Ohio & Miami. We have a TOUGH schedule. It will be difficult for us to repeat. Looking forward to how our guys and the new staff handle the situation. Go Huskies!

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have repressed memories. Aside from Boise which you already mentioned, in the last 5 years we have been embarrassed like this by USF (2016), Marshall (2014), and Arkansas (2014).

I like Hammock, but this staff is NOT getting it done right now. Just look at the punt team. Already had to call a time out and had a penalty called on them. This is all on the coaching staff. Team isn’t prepared with basic fundamentals after having 2 weeks to fix it. Unreal!

That was my take too. Add the Cole catch over his shoulder on the 4 (part player but the coaches have to put a stop to those)
