RE: ***OFFICIAL***VANDERBILT PREDICTION THREAD
Based on some things he has written, I have to believe that Dave Drury is on or reads this board. Rabid, I think it's a little to early to say Cox has busted out. He's played one game, not a fair sample size. Maybe things will click for Hawn but he is something of an enigma.

RE: ***OFFICIAL***VANDERBILT PREDICTION THREAD
I think our defense might struggle as we're banged up and missing some key pieces- that and Vandy has scored some points even in their losses to Purdue and LSU (only 6 against Georgia but they have an elite D). I am hopeful our O line can clean some things up and give Bowers time. If that happens, I believe Bowers can have a good day hitting our WRs. We also need to establish the run to keep Vandy D off balance. I have a good feeling about this game....

Go Huskies! I'm flying down tomorrow. Hope to see many of you at the game and afterwards while we celebrate ....

If I am not mistaken two of Vandy's touchdowns against LSU were scored by their defense. Seems like I got that from their press conference. Maybe their offense is not as potent as some have indicated.

Huskies 38-21. Smaller crowd so not a great home field advantage. We hit a couple of longs balls. Punting game helps us win field position for some short drive success.[/i]

Despite never having done so against anyone, apparently Vaughn is going to put up 200 yards against us according to a couple of their fans. And if we stack the box Neal will pick us apart and have a big passing day.

I believe Vaughn did average 6 ypc against LSU, which is quite good. And Neal could easily have a big passing day, I think he threw for close to 300 yards against us last year, though it didn't result in many points. We had Sutton Smith the last 2 times we played against him.

For the LAST time, the football team is NOT rebuilding
I disagree, Id say this is a classic rebuild project for Hammock.
Huh??? They’re stronger than last year at every position except D end and left tackle. The left tackle issue is because the two highest tackle recruits in NIUs history so far have busted out in Cox and Hawn. Where are they rebuilding?
Definitely not a rebuild year. It's new coaches, QB, and systems, so there is a learning curve. Plus a hell of a tough schedule to start the year. Hopefully we're ready for MAC games.

Tough injuries on defense hurt. Our offense (eg running game) comes along slowly! Offense has to get better.

Can go either way.
Depends which Vandy team shows up.
The one that got blown out by LSU will lose.
Their latest performance game-will be tpough to beat.
Another test for coach Hammock!
Can the oline protect the QB?
Can the D return to its pre-Nebraska self?

24-21 NIU gets the W
Bowers connects on two big plays ( that he missed last game wide open) and nettles gets a few 15-20yard runs which opened up the passing game.
