Game 5: Albany
Let’s move on, shall we?

Quick facts:
Last year’s result: WM wins 25-22

Albany’s record this year: 2-2

Wins: Bryant 45-3, Lafayette 36-7

Losses: Central Michigan 38-21, Monmouth 38-35 (OT)

Summary: Albany has a new QB under center, Jeff Undercuffler, a redshirt freshman. A new RB in Karl Mofor. Also have an inexperienced defense.

With that said, I believe Kilton Anderson will start this week, but I believe we win 34-13

We had a nice comeback win last year. The QB with the famous last name threw some picks. We had trouble with the RB, but he is no longer playing for them.

RE: Game 5: Albany
We've got a very talented group of seniors on the defensive side in Laster, Murray, Atkins, Jones, Hayes, Parker and Johnson, who are stepping up with expected, final year urgency. This group is capable of keeping us in every league game. May be naive, but NOVA, Towson and Elon are not going to put up 40+ points on this group. How we fare will come down to whether this offense can come together in time to make us contenders. Can't count on turnovers being there every weekend. Marion has to fulfill the hype. There will be a fine line between the top and the bottom. This is a game we must win, then protect home field the rest of the way.

Nothing is a must win. This is agreed an important game and opportunity to open league play with a W. UAlbany seems tougher than first expected and on paper, seems a toss-up.

Unable to attend tonight's QB Club meeting. If London gives information on Mathis would someone please post it on this thread.

Headline for writeup just released in the RTD's Plus subscription service, stated London said Mathis' status is still unknown.

Game 5: Albany
W&M coach Mike London said QB Hollis Mathis hopes to play Saturday at Albany. Wasn’t specific but said it is not a season-ending injury.

Hope Wimmer and Herdman are healthy and back. Didn't Evers go down in the ECU game?

Hope we can get to their big, young QB Undercuffler early and often, and not allow him to get comfortable and gain confidence sitting in the pocket.

Didn't Evers go back in the game after the injury?

That's great news.

Would rather hold him out this week. It gets a lot tougher, and would prefer him to be fully recovered for that stretch and not risk extending the issue. A week with the firsts should improve Kilton's play.

That makes no sense to me. When Mathis is in the game we move the ball and score. Not so much with Anderson. If he's cleared to play he will be the starter. If he's not cleared then of course he doesn't play. It isn't like we are the Redskins or anything like that.

Evers returned to game. Murray went out with limp arm in the 4th qtr. He did not return. No sling after the game. Hopefully just a mild stinger. Little disappointed that a QB with Anderson's experience was consistently throwing off his back foot. Defense generally showed well. Still waiting for Atkins to have a big game. He's been rather quiet.

Hear you, but if not 100% and retweeks, then he misses bigger games. This is the "easiest" remaining game.

I have noticed as well, and thought about mentioning. Does the new configuration not feature his position as much? Perhaps still adjusting to newer scheme, and maybe a bit dinged up?

Murray is probably still feeling shoulder pain from game 2. I agree, need Nate to get going...kinda reminds me of Luke his senior year. Anderson needed to take advantage of his opportunity.
