It was the Miami team that knocked off NIU for the
MACC in 2010. 3 win Colorado State team.

springboromark you might be thinking of the 2003 miami team with big ben that after an opening loss at iowa won 13 straight mostly blowout games averaging well over 40 pts. those wins included northwestern, marshall, ucf, cincinnati, ranked BG teams twice (BG was great that year), louisville in a bowl, and ... in dominating fashion at a colorado state team that was pretty good, coming off a pac10 road win and would go on to a bowl game. one of the best mac teams of all time

Wasn't Colorado State one of the teams Toledo beat during the 35-0 streak?

Arkansas 55 Colorado State 34
For context, the Razorbacks previously beat Portland State 20-13 and lost to Ole Miss 31-17.

But, the Rams are bitten by the injury bug already. Their starting QB went out with a knee injury and is getting an MRI today. Their LG also went out. Don't know his status.

I just checked the media guide. In 1970 Colorado State was win #22 of the 35 consecutive wins. Toledo 24 CSU 14. I think we will beat them by about the same margin this year.

CSU had a pretty good running back on that team (Lawrence McCutcheon).

Well, for better or worse, our MAC brethren are our peers. And I’m tired of looking at the scoreboard and seeing MAC vs. G5 games with results like Ball State losing to FAU, Akron losing to UAB, Ohio U. losing to Marshall, Bowling Green losing to LA Tech, Buffalo losing to Liberty, Miami losing to UC (why do they play every year??)…only wins so far were Eastern over Coastal Carolina, and Western over Georgia St. (strangely enough, the two teams with arguably the two highest profile G5 over P5 wins this season lose when they play The MAC). It’s looking increasingly likely for there to be very little to gain from any conference win this year other than a trophy. It’s imperative that CSU becomes a win for us.

yup, EMU is solid. Ohio got nipped by 2 at a pretty good marshall team coming off a competitive loss to pitt. so, the bobcats are an undervalued 1-2. ball st isn't bad they just don't win close games. miami looked dominating for a half vs cincy and still went into the locker room behind. chuck martin has a unique ability to coach teams that look good on the field but do not score points. i've never seen a program have such imbalance between the seeming quality of play and the scoreboard. miami was all over cincy early but blew some scoring opps and gave up some big plays. then in the second half they just went flat for a few minutes and bam were down 20. btw miami vs cincy is one of college football's all time ivalries, the oldest west of the eastern US.

as for colorado state they got a great rb. he ran past everyone on arkansas and was pretty physical too, but he got dinged up a bit and came off the field a couple times so i wonder if he'll be 100% for us. their qb is very good but took a late hit in his twice surgically repaired left knee and limped off. hopefully, it's minor but i'd assume he's resting it up for conference play if it wasn't retorn and we will see their backup qb either way. that kid is a 4th yr junior who is slow but showed some moxie and wasn't bad. they got an excellent lanky 6-6 receiver with good hands who arkansas struggled to defend. the game was even until late when csu's qb went out and their defense wore down and arkansas pulled away. i'd expect us to be the fresher team and win a close game down the stretch but CSU is good. they can score and our defense hasn't earned our confidence yet. i'd expect something like a 34-31 type game.

The MAC Ceiling OOC is dependant on NIU beating Vandy, and Toledo going 3-1 to start the season. At the very least we need some type of leverage over the bottom of the MWC. Winning by double digits would do that. We are the only team with a chance to get ranked... Kentucky should have beaten Florida.

UK was in control, then after Florida's starting QB goes out w an injury they run off 19 straight points to end the game

Massey Composite has the Rockets leading the league at 70th... CSU is ranked 115th. BYU is ranked 50th, and we are favored the rest of the way past them.
