Do you want the Big 10 network, my Duke friend?
Have you gone and taken a **** multiple times on Big Ten message boards ???
Maybe they would love to hear your take on this subject.
You mean go to the big ten board about how awful the ACC is?
Kansas?? Your 2nd best team got blown out by Kansas?
3rd best team UNC lost to Wake???
2nd best team?
3rd best team?
Where do you come up with this crap? It is only the 3rd week.
I mean the MWC has 6 undefeated teams with 6 P5 wins in 3 weeks
The AAC has 5 undefeated teams in 2 weeks of play
You have Clemson, Virginia and NCSU (undefeated) and BC and UNC
Horrible start for the ACC
What exactly are you seeking to accomplish over here? Are you expecting a lot of folks to jump on your bandwagon that the ACC sucks, like you have going over on the AAC board? I know you hate the ACC because you have said as much and thats ok. But if any of us came to your board and started pointing out how your conference stinks, it would become a smackfest of magnitude proportion before people start to get banned. So please give us that same respect here. We know the ACC has underperformed so far. But the ACC will be ok.

Ok, i’ll stick to the topic which I had posted about before my other thread got brought up.
Good luck getting your network on in all the markets you want in on. I believe everyone in the ACC footprint has access to the ACCN already.

After this AT&T negotiation is complete all that will be left is Comcast. With basketball being the ACC's true bread and butter it will be interesting to see if Comcast can ignore carriage come November

but not 1 single person outside your schools footprint wants to pay for this garbage. I hate conference tv networks; it’s why I cut the chord—seeing that I was getting (thus paying for) the SEC network when I lived in Phoenix (temporary work gig)
That made me sick. I dropped cable forever after that
And why, exactly, did you feel compelled to come here to tell us this?

No, have you gone to the Big Ten board to ***** about Jim Delaney and the BTN causing all of this conference network BS?
That is where you should start. They might like to hear from you.

RE: ACC Network
I knew I would watch the ACC Network when it came on ...
But I am surprised just how MUCH I watch it. I think that will increase in hoops season ... but I have been very happy with it.
I love the Packer and Durham show. And the non-game content has been surprisingly entertaining too.
Anyway ... just thought I'd throw that out in this all-encompassing network thread.

I have enjoyed it as well but I have noticed a UofL absence, other than a “watch party” & a good “all access” piece. No soccer, volleyball or any other such games. There are some “classic” UL vs FSU football games scheduled to air this week though.

Soccer, Volleyball, et al are carried on ACCN+ which you can access through the ESPN app once you have signed in with your TV provider.

RE: ACC Network
Tim Brando is saying, or at least very strongly implying on his Twitter feed, that Mike Gminski won't be working for the ACC Network. That's a damn shame. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want him. Brando says he hasn't heard yet about Dan Bonner. They're both top notch basketball broadcasters with long histories with the ACC. Why wouldn't you want that continuity? And, for that matter, what about Cory Alexander?

Perhaps he wouldn't agree to the "no hoop ear rings on guys" dress policy for the network?

I've never understood the earring. Gminski is actually a pretty straight laced guy. A few years ago he was thinking of running for office as a Republican.

RE: ACC Network
From the Tallahassee Democrat(emphasis added):
Quote:Plenty of Florida State fans in Tallahassee and across the heart of ACC Country are still without the ACC Network due to Comcast's holdout.
The largest cable provider in the country with over 21 million subscribers has still not agreed to terms with ESPN and its parent company Disney to carry the network which launched in August.
Comcast's deal with Disney doesn't expire for another two years.
While this explains why Comcast may be in no hurry to make the deal, FSU's Associate Athletic Director for New Revenue Generation and Marketing Jason Dennard said Thursday that conversations haven't ceased. ...
FSU Athletic Director David Coburn said at FSU's Athletics board meeting Wednesday that negotiations between Comcast and Disney are at a "brick wall" and that he isn't optimistic a deal will be reached any time soon, according to Warchant.com.
Dish was on a similar timeline with a deal going well into the future, but negotiated a new deal to include the ACC Network mere hours before Clemson hosted Georgia Tech in the first football game on the network Aug. 29.
"There's not a ton of leverage as it pertains to that, but, you know, the same thing could have been said about Dish Network as well," Dennard said. ...
While Comcast remains out, the early returns on subscriber numbers are overwhelmingly positive. Coburn said that the ACC Network is in over 40 million households -- well over the launch numbers for the SEC Network and other conference networks -- and that new deals with AT&T U-Verse and DIRECTV seem imminent. ...

RE: ACC Network
Curious, has a figure been given for how much the ACC will make per viewer? With the number of an estimated 40+ Million, with just getting 50 cents per view, that would be 20 Million which is well over initial expectation if I am not mistaken.
Just a guess, when ACC basketball picks up, Comcast may jump on board when the UNC vs DUKE game is moved to the ACC Network. I have always believed ACC Basketball will be helping the network more than any other conference network.

What I've heard has been $1 per month for those in the ACC footprint and $.50 per month for those outside the footprint which is less than the SEC in the footprint but more outside the footprint which makes sense since the ACC has a lot of private schools with more widely dispersed fan bases.
Duke-UNC won't be on ACCN this upcoming season. At least, those games are only listed as ESPN broadcasts. I keep wondering about some alternate broadcast on ACCN.
By the way, the governor of NC is getting in a say on the carrier negotiations. Governor Cooper is a UNC alum but, sports wise, he's more known as a Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) fan.

Keep in mind that whatever the ACC network charges is split 50/50 with ESPN first, then the half that remains is divided among the schools.
Some estimates I've seen fail to give ESPN their cut.

RE: ACC Network
I'm not sure a letter from Gov. Cooper is going to change anything. Disney has a set price for the ACCN and many providers have already agreed to that price. It is up to the remaining providers to decide if they want to or not. For Comcast, my gut tells me that it isn't going to happen. So, those Xfinity customers should really start making changes to other providers. For myself, I'm a long time DIRECTV customer. I thought things were fine until the recent news that there is a battle going on between AT&T and Disney. It "seems" like that battle is close to being resolved. However, there is still no official announcement. So, it ain't over until it is over. If things fall through, I'm prepared to move on to someone else.
